Part 5

Dawn went to Elaine's house as soon as she got dressed. When she knocked on the door it swung open and there stood Elaine.

"Lainie?" Dawn exclaimed hugging a surprised Elaine.

"What's the matter Dawn?" Elaine asked pulling away, "and why are you crying?"

"Didn't you listen to the news this morning?"

"Get real Dawn, you know I'm barely awake when the news comes on." "Lainie, Dion was in an accident last night. The person who was with him was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in serious condition."

"Oh my goodness!" Elaine gasped, trembling in shock.
"I thought it was you," Dawn cried, hugging here friend again. "Didn't you and Dion go out any more?"

"Duh Dawn!" I guess not, "Elaine replied still shaking."

"So how come you didn't go out with Dion anymore?" Dawn enquired.

"Well it wasn't my choice Elaine said, I had already dressed to go out, in fact Dion was outside waiting for me."

"So what happened?"

"Somehow mommy figured out that I had been lying all along and Dion and I were going out alone."

"Oops, Dawn gasped, what did she do?"

"Well she lit into me for lying. I was scared she was going to use the belt on me and she retired that four years ago. She made me go out and tell Dion that I couldn't go out with him. It was humiliating."

"How did Dion take it?"

"He got mad and sped out of here saying that Sandra wasn't too much of a baby to go out with him.

Oh Dawn I guess it was Sandra with him! I hope she's okay."

"Me too Lainie, Dawn said. I feel bad for her but I'm thankful that it wasn't you."

"I'm sorry that I didn't listen when you warned me about Dion."

"No problem. I'm sorry I was such a know it all!"

"Yeah, you were, weren't you!"

"Okay, okay! You don't have to rub it in Dawn laughed. I said I was sorry.

Just then a commanding voice rang out, Elaine Alicia Smith! You do remember you are grounded don't you.

Oops, Elaine whispered, Dawn we'll have to talk at school or when I get out of prison.
Dawn left happy to have her best friend back while Elaine went to her room happy just to be alive and well.

Hope you liked the conclusion to this chapter of A Teen's Dilemma. However this is not the end of Dawn and Elaine. Send in your ideas for a new chapter or better yet, write your own Elaine and Dawn story.
