Spotlight on Zinza Collie
By B. McIntosh

This issue's Spotlight Teen is named after an African Princess. She is a sixteen years old twelfth grader who attends St. Paul's Methodist College, where she maintains a G.P.A of over 3.0.
Zinza Collie has certainly made her presence known on her school's campus. She is a member of the Christian Youth Movement, Debate Team, Science Club, Future Ambassador Society and Newspaper Club. As if that isn't enough she finds time to take music classes, with the goal in mind to play music in her church. (Keep up the good work Zinza!)
Zinza enjoys listening to a variety of music however her favorite type to listen too is classical.

B.M. How do you create a balance between academics and extra curricular activities?
Z.C.
Most of my activities are right after school for only an hour. So I tell myself one hour will be set aside for that activity. After that I head home and sit to do my work. Once I set my time schedule I'm okay. My time management counts it helps me to stay on top of everything.

B.M. Who inspires you most in life and why?
Z.C.
Both of my parents inspire me because they teach me to go the right way. Once
they know that they have taught me something they
leave it up to me to make the right choice.

B.M. What are your goals for the future?
Z.C.
I want to become a pediatrician and open my own children's hospital. I plan to accomplish this by going to school to further my education.

B.M. What is your favorite movie of all times and why?
Z.C.
My favorite movie is Save The Last Dance- I enjoyed this movie because of the determination of a young teen girl who lost her mother and wanted to quit. However, because of a good friend she was able to accomplish her dreams. It was filled with drama, entertainment, action… it had everything in it. (you convinced me Zinza, I'm going to rent that today)

B.M. What effect does your friendship have on your life?
Z.C.
Friendships help me to know that I can always talk to someone about certain things, go out with them and learn a little of something too. Also, I have learned that even with a friend you will have your ups and downs.

B.M. How can young ladies make their world a better place?
Z.C.
Young ladies can make their world a better place by accepting who God has made them to be. They must treat themselves like royalty because God is their king.

B.M. What advice do you have for young ladies who may have chosen a negative path in life?
Z.C.
To all the young ladies out there, we are all human beings and yes, God knows that at times we will make mistakes but that does not mean its the end of the world, Just know you have not been defeated, get back up again and continue where you left off.
