by Bernadine McIntosh
If you were aware of this year's Debutante Ball then this terrific teen may be familiar to you. This seventeen-year old is beautiful, graceful, well spoken and intelligent. Tiffany Hudson, an honor roll student at Jack Hayward High School, is the winner of this year's Debutante Ball. Tiffany is an ambitious young lady who plans to become a Forensic Scientist. The lack of women in this area encourages her to follow her dream and make it a reality. This teen draws strength and inspiration from her prayer time with her family. She credits it with encouraging her in her everyday routine.
B.M. What are some of your accomplishments that you are
most proud of?
T.H. The accomplishments that I'm most proud of right now
are, my success in making Debutante of the year and being an honor
roll student throughout high school.
B.M. What is the Debutante Ball all about?
T.H. The Debutante/ Ball is an event that gets parents
and other relatives together to introduce their sons or daughters
to society in the form of a ball.
B.M. How did you prepare for the ball?
T.H. We had months of training and coaching. We learned
dance routines, one of which was the waltz. We also had sessions
on table etiquette, time management, dental health and facial
care
just to name a few. (Wow! That sounds exciting and
educational)
B.M. How has participating in the Debutante Ball affected
your life?
T.H. It had affected my life tremendously. Prior to entering
the sessions I was somewhat shy. However this whole experience
has helped me to become a more outgoing and sociable individual
B.M. The Debutante Ball is not the only big event for you
this year. You'll also be graduating from high school. What
will you miss most?
T.H. I will surely miss my classmates. They have grown
over the years to become my long lasting friends.
B.M. What advice do you have for the young ladies you are
leaving behind?
T.H. The advice that I have for young ladies is to remember
that we are being observed by society and we must make a good
impression. We must show them that we can be the future doctors,
and lawyers of this country and that no matter what our gender
we can we accomplish anything we set our minds to. (Well said
Tiffany!)
B.M. What advice do you have for the graduating class of 2003?
T.H. To the graduating class of 2003, we are the best and
there will surely not be another group like us. Let's continue
to be proud and encourage each other in our dreams for the future.
Wherever life leads you keep strong and never settle for anything
less than your very best'
