www.kippo.or.jp/index.asp/ - The Kansai Window, a page on all aspects of culture in the Western Japanese region. A really great site with lots of info!
www.nhao.go.jp - There is an Astronomical Observatory in Sayo west of Shingu. A really neat place!

www.spring8.or.jp - The SPring-8 site. This is home to one of the most advanced rescearch centers devoted to synchrotronic radiation research. It's also one of the few facilities like it in the world.
