Clerical Bind

Edited by Kirby Flake

This is a special non-magical ability of a cleric (includes PC's that can cast a “cure” spell including druids, rangers, paladins, 1st edition bards (at 1st level bard), etc.).

If the cleric goes to a creature that has been wounded and the damage has not been healed before, then the cleric may preform a Clerical Bind on that creature. Clerical Bind will heal the creature 0 to 3 (1d4-1) hit points. If the roll on the d4 is a 1 the creature will stop bleeding, but will not gain any hit points back. Note that this will not heal more hit points than the creature has damage. Also note that if the creature takes damage after it has been Clerically Bound, then the cleric can only heal that damage taken.

Clerical Bind was created before the Healing Proficiency existed. This can be used in conjunction with the Healing proficiency. The suggested method is to roll the proficiency check for healing. If successful then roll 1d6, instead of 1d3 for the healing. If the proficiency check fails then the cleric can still roll a 1d4-1.
