| The "Normal" Days... |
| I spose I should start by telling where I was born first...I was born in Minnesota,USA on May 5th,1979. Great! Now lets jump ahead wayyy far... At age 16,I was in the 10th grade in High School, and working my 1st job. I started at a gas station in the deli department, frosting and decorating donuts to have them ready for the next morning. A few weeks after I started my job,I couldn't keep up with school and work at once-I was too busy catching a city bus to the mall,or grabbing a ride with my friends to skip school. I ended up missing too much school to keep on going...It was like one day in French class we were learning une-dix (one-ten),and than I decide to go to class a few weeks later, and everyone is talking in French. The only french I knew at that point was "What the F*ck!?" (pardon my French) lol I than realized there was no way for me to catch up in class,so I just dropped out! After dropping out of High School,I had too much time on my hands! I wanted to learn more at work,so the boss started me on cash registers. I had alot of fun with that (I didn't say I appreciated the customers attitudes though, and they didn't like mine either!) After a few weeks of getting the hang of the registers,I ended up working anywhere from 30-56 hours a week (double shifts at times). Most of the time it was fun working that much, because I would end up pulling double shift with Char's mom (she was the assistant manager),and that's how I met Char. Towards the end of that job,my God Daughter was born, and I started babysitting her from the age of 2 months old-so her mom could go back to work without a worry! I was babysitting her 10 hours a day (Monday-Friday/5am-5pm) and going straight from there to work at the 1st job from 6-9pm-back to the deli again! I ended up moving to another city, and wanted to work closer to home...So I stopped babysitting my God Daughter, and quit my 1st job after working there for 1 1/2 years! I was hired to work at another gas station, working register once again...I was working the "grave yard" shift by myself,40 hours a week,Monday-Friday! While working there late at night, there wasn't much I could do while being alone on my shift-I got bored fast! 8 months after working that late night shift,I wanted more money,so I gave my 2 week notice! From there I was hired by the Postal Service (at age 18) as a "casual",working 40-56 hours again! In the middle of December 1997 I started having symptoms of something strange...Like most people,I ignored it,and kept working! In the beginning of January 1998,I went to a neurologist and he ran a MRI (Megnetic Resonance Imaging) and told me I either had Lupus,MS,or Lyme's disease. He than took a spinal tap,and than I was dx with definate MS,RRMS (Relapsing Remitting MS) to be exact! At that point,I was completely paralyzed on my left side (due to numbness from MS),and was forced to quit my job with the Postal Service! A few months went by,and I am "back to normal". I than started working for another gas station, hired for 24-32 hours a week, but in the end I had to cut my hours down to 16-24 hours a week...Due to more MS flare-ups! I also went back to school "Let's give this one more try..." I did,and it took me 8-9 months to finish all of 3 years that I had missed! I graduated in March of 1999 at the age of 19,but I finished earlier than the rest of the graduating class, therefor I had to wait till the end of June to have my actual Graduation Day (I had turned 20 one month before graduation day! The day I recieved my diploma,I quit my job at the station! I wanted a real job this time!! I started working for a armored security place in the vault area (Vault is a place that supplies $$$ to stores, banks, malls, etc.) I was hired for no more than 16 hour weekend shift (7am-3pm,Saturday-Sunday),thats all I could handle...I worked there for about 7 months, and than was just bored with Minnesota all together! |
