I'm sure you're all just dying to know what I'm going to publish next. (Crickets chirping) Well, I threw this page together anyways. I usually work on whichever project I feel like at the time, but if you really like one of my ideas let me know and I might make it a priority. Email about a story will definitely make me work on it faster.
LAST UPDATE: 3/15/02 NOW THAT "COURTING DISASTER" IS OUT OF THE WAY, I'M TURNING MY ATTENTION TO "CAUSALITY" AND "THE LOSS". "CAUSALITY" MIGHT BE UP IN A MONTH OR SO, BUT "THE LOSS" WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL AT LEAST AFTER I FINISH EXAMS. (SORRY, BUT I DO NEED AN EDUCATION.)
LEGEND:
I'm just putting on the final touches. Any day now, I swear.
It's in progress. I'm working on it, really.
There's physical evidence that I've started, but don't hold your breath.
Story consists entirely of a series of neural impulses in my brain. I'll start actually writing it when I win the lottery, get an email about it, or discover that Hell has frozen over. Whichever comes first.
CAUSALITY
SUMMARY: An accident on an alien planet throws Captain Janeway into a temporal loop.
This story will be my first venture into the world of time travel. The summary is pretty self explanatory: during an away mission, there's an accident with a tachyon reactor that starts off a temporal loop. It's not so much action as it is a character story, but it's shaping up to be one of my favorites to date. It shouldn't be too long getting finished, so look for it sometime in April. You can read teaser for this story at Fanfiction.net
THE LOSS
SUMMARY: A tragedy places a huge responsibility on Captain Janeway
I hate to give away too much of the plot on this onebut think Major Kira and the O'Briens on Ds9's "Body Parts" and following episodes. P/Ters beware, this story is not for you. Theymake wayfor the greater good of J/C. If I write this one well enough, it should be a tear jerker. (I may decide to write a not-so angsty version to appease the P/Ters if I have enough free time this summer.)
UNIMATRIX 425
SUMMARY: What if Voyager had been unable to rescue the Captain at the end of "Unimatrix Zero"?
This is a story idea I came up with after watching UMZ for the second time. It's an A/U look at what might have happened if everyone but the Captain had been rescued and she was successfully assimilated by the Borg queen. Voyager manages to rescue her after a few months, and she has to deal with the aftermath of her assimilation. This is nothing more than an idea so far but it's one of the first projects I'm going to jump on this summer.
ESCAPE POD
SUMMARY: The Captain and Tom Paris are stranded in an escape pod after Voyager is destroyed.
Well, I was bound to blow up the ship eventually <g>. Basically, Voyager will go to the big shipyard in the sky right at the beginning of the story, and Janeway and Paris will be in the same escape pod (no, it's NOT J/P. Blech.). It will be something along the lines of Enterprise's "Shuttlepod One" (although I feel compelled to say I thought up this story *before* I watched that). They're running out of oxygen, the other survivors can't find them, yada yada yada, and there will be nothing left for them to talk about but J/C and P/T <g>. Again, nothing more than an idea but I'm really looking forward to writing it.
...AND THE SUN WILL RISE
SUMMARY: A sequel to "Escape Pod"; the Voyager crew settles on an unihabited planet.
Wow, I'm pathetic. I haven't even started "Escape Pod" and I'm already thinking about the sequel. Well, if I was bound to blow up the ship I was bound to strand them all on a planet. After Voyager's destruction in "Escape Pod" (shocker: the Captain and Paris don't die <g>), return to the Alpha quadrant seems hopeless and the crew has no choice but to find an M-class planet and settle down. Janeway, of course, retreats from the others and it's up to Chakotay to make her see reason. I might, in the distant future, even write a sequel to this where they somehow get rescued and make it back home.
