| How many players does an owner have and how many start each week?
Everyone will draft (Note: this will be an e-mail draft like the survivor has been in the past) 2 QB s - 2 RB s - 3 WR s - 2 TE s - 2 Kickers - 2 Defense/Special Tm NO BENCH PLAYERS Before Week #1 you can cut a player and add a player During Week #1 you will start ALL 13 players on your roster. Before Week #2 and 3 you can cut a player and add a player, just one. This does include a QB move. During Week #2 and 3 you will start ALL 13 players on your roster. Before Week #4 we will have a supplemental draft. Draft order will be based on total points worst to first., then draft ordered - Released! Everyone will pick two players ... a RB and WR. Also the six owners that have a QB on bye during Week #4 will be able to pick another QB to start during Week #4, so the supplemental draft will be 32 picks. So now your roster will be ... 2 QB s (six teams will have 3 QB, but only for Week #4) 3 RB s - 4 WR s - 2 TE s - 2 Kickers - 2 Defense/Special Teams During Week #4 through Week #10 (NFL Bye weeks), you will start: 2 QB s - 2 RB s - 3 WR s - 1 TE s - 1 Kickers - 1 Defense/Special Tm Five (5) BENCH PLAYERS ... Here is how the QB transaction will work ... After Week #1, 2 and 3 ... you can add and drop a QB just like you would any other player and YES during these weeks the QB moves counts as a transaction. Starting with Week #4 through the end of NFL byes (Week #10) this procedure will be followed. After the owners have who picked up a third QB for their bye week have gotten through their week, then they will release one for their three quarterbacks (it does not have to be the one that was added), then the owners who have a QB on bye the next week will pick up a free agent QB to get them through their bye week situation. If you have two QB s with back to back bye weeks, you have the option of keeping the QB you added for another week or release him ... ALTHOUGH THERE IS A WIAVER TRANSACTION ORDER. The selection for QBs is based first on whether or not you are still alive in survivor, then based on MOST total points scored. You are rewarded for doing well in the league. So it is possible that the 30th best QB (John Doe) could be on seven (7) different teams during weeks 4 though 10. REGULAR TRANSACTIONS ... Any player (including quarterbacks during Weeks 1-3 and Weeks 11-17) picked is first come first served and you will have to drop a player from the SAME position. Remember you are only allowed to make one such transaction each week. The one move does not include quarterback moves during weeks 4 through 10. There is NO add/drop transaction during the week of the supplemental draft. During weeks 4-10, you can freely change your 10 man starting line-up due to byes or poor performance from the 15 man roster that you have to work with to meet the required line-up. After Week #10 (there are no more NFL byes) You will be forced to CUT five (5) players ... 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST. Consequently, your roster and starting line-up are the same ... 2 QB s - 2 RB s - 3 WR s - 1 TE s - 1 Kickers - 1 Defense/Special Tm NO BENCH PLAYERS From Week #11 through Week #17 ... you can cut a player and add a player, BUT just one see above for details. This one maximum transaction DOES include a QB move during these weeks since there are no NFL byes. |

| 2008 SPT Fantasy Football Rules | |||||||||||||||||||
| Dateline Indianapolis (July 26, 2008) The kipsleague SURVIVOR Fantasy Football League (SFF) has been terminated. It may return at some point this century, but unlikely.
Replacing that league in my Fantasy Football hobby is a new league for 2008. It is called Survivor, POINTS, Tourney Fantasy Football League (SPT). I want this league to be simple (nearly impossible for me), but still challenging and fun. The downside to the Survivor league was too many people (including me) eliminated too early in the football season. This league will include all 17 weeks ... yes we are using week 17, so plan accordingly. This league will be run through Yahoo and I will have 13 players. The reason for that is because it is a TWO quarterback league and there are two NFL bye weeks that have six (6) NFL teams on bye. During those two weeks all 32 starting QBs in the NFL will be used. During non bye weeks there will be six (6) free agent quarterbacks available to be picked up if you so desire. During most byes weeks only four (4) NFL teams have byes, so there are 26 quarterbacks on SPT league rosters plus four that can be picked up to fill in for byes which leaves two NFL starting QBs that will not be used. I am inviting the 16 players who played Survivor to play in this league if you desire. The three odd players out are Greg, Kyle and KJ. THIS LEAGUE WILL COST $20 THIS SEASON! Unlike the Survivor league you can make transactions and trades in the SPT. Most of the transactions will be first come, first served. Although a quarterback transaction when one of your main QB is on bye will be based on a seeding criteria. So you will never have to be in a situation were you do not have a QB who is NOT playing during any given NFL week and you can keep your two drafted or main quarterbacks on your roster. For quarterback injuries that are listed as OUT, you will automatically get your starters back-up ... but his points only count if he starts the game. This league figures points based on who starts at QB you will NOT be awarded points for a QB that comes in to replace your starter, but you will have the option to start your main quarterback or his back-up the next week. Overview ... This is primary a POINTS league, so if you don't want to read any more about the rules the person that scores the most points through 17 weeks wins the most money (see pay-out schedule below), so try to win (outscore the league) each week. Also, there is a survivor aspect to this league after Week #1 the lowest scorer each week will be eliminated from the survivor portion of this league. Also the high scorer of each week gets a $5 pay-out. There will be NO immunity in this league. If you are the lowest scorer, then you are OUT of the survivor. After a player has been eliminated from the survivor portion then you will be feed through one of two different tournaments. The first eight players eliminated will play in an eight man tourney. The next three out (places 9, 10 and 11) will play a three man tourney and then there will be a survivor runner-up and survivor champion. That equals 13 players. After a survivor champion is crowned end of week #13, then there will be a tournament (Survivor style) during the final four (4) weeks of the NFL season. The survivor champion will receive a bye into this tournament and can not be eliminated until Week #16. Here are other ways that you can qualify for the final tournament 1.) win the eight man post survivor tournament 2.) Win the three man post survivor tournament 3.) be the survivor runner-up or 4.) Have the most total points scored and not have already qualified from above. You can win the OVERALL point championship and pay-out even if you do not qualify for this end of the season tournament. The tournament will give players a reason to keep trying to score points and keep players interested in this league even if they are third, sixth or tenth in total points. |

| INJURIES ... If you have a QB that gets injured and does not START a game, you will automatically get his back-up and the points generated by that player, but not if your starting QB is injured DURING the game. You only get points for your starting QB.. Other player injures will follow these rules. If a RB or WR from your roster is listed as OUT during the first three weeks, then you can add a new player who plays the same position and BORROW your first round supplemental draft choice. That means you can pick a replacement without cutting the injured player, but then you will only pick one player after week #3. That is assuming the player is worth keeping, if not you just cut him and add other player, YOU WILL NOT GET AN EXTRA PICK BECAUSE OF INJURY ... one transaction per week (except quarterbacks during bye weeks).
If you have a RB or WR listed as OUT from weeks 4 through 10. You have two choices 1.) Add a replacement without cutting your injured player and you will not be able to play the injured player until Week 11 even if he returns before that week. After Week #10, you would cut enough players from that position to get down to the required number allowed. The up side is you can keep the injured player on your roster if he is a good player, the down side is you can not use him until Week #11. Option 2.) Keep him or cut him ... you have an extra position player, so if your byes don't hurt you then you can hope for his return before you lose too many points OR just cut him and add another player who can play right away, so that you can keep adding to your point total ... remember this is a POINTS league! If players are injured and listed as OUT after Week #10, you can cut the injured player and add another since all rostered players are starters. OR you will be allowed to add a replacement player to your roster without cutting your injured player BUT your roster will be locked until that injured player returns and acquires statistics or you decided to cut him. Your roster being locked means ... no line-up changes and of course no add/drop transactions. *These rules are allowable for up to one RB and one WR at the same time. No room for three IR players at any time and no room for a second IR player from the same position. Lastly, there is no consideration for minor injuries ... questionable or doubtful. And there is no injury consideration for tight ends or kickers ... You either cut them or keep them! |
