Hello Friends and Family and more importantly, hi Fantasy Football Players:

Well, it is a new season (2005) ... so that means a NEW Fantasy Football game. It has already changed in my mind before I could get the rules on paper.
It has gone from my "Best Friends League" of six players to friends and family of eight players. This way we use ALL 32 teams instead of just 30.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ THESE RULES, then simply send me six lists of NFL teams. The first is rating top QBs (by team not individual QBs) 1-32, then same for RBs (1-32), WRs, TE, Kickers and defenses all listed 1-32 best players to worst in each position category.

Example ...
Top QBs
1.) Colts
2-31 (whichever team�s QB has the best chance of scoring the most fantasy points)
32.) Cardinals

Top (RB, WR, TE and kickers) 1-32

Top Defensives
1.) Ravens
2-31
32.) Colts

You want the teams with the best individual player (however it is JUST one player per position) near the top of your list. Do not rate the Colts or Lions higher BECAUSE the may have two or three very good receivers. You will ONLY use ONE RB and ONE WR from your list. Note: make your rankings based on the SURVIVOR points system ... QB scoring league! Bob, you can read the rules on this website, just go to Survivor, then Rules.

Make your lists is all you have to do for the first four weeks, there is NO draft. I'll call you after week #4 and tell you what your next move or pick is ... please note the above apply to those of you who choose NOT to read from here down.

OK, for the rest of you ...
Your lists (six in all) will determine your Fantasy Football Team for the first four weeks of the NFL season. The first four weeks of the season will be Head-to-Head schedule from your division plus week #4 a positioning round (#1 vs #1 - #4 vs. #4), so we can seed #1 through #8. YOU WANT TO BE IN THE TOP FOUR SEEDS! We are going to use every team in the league from your list (eight players four weeks = 32 teams). Once someone gets the Colts QB, then P. Manning is out of the league until week #5.

Two Divisions of four (4) players for the first four weeks.
Friends Division
1.) Steve
2.) Greg
3.) Matt
4.) Kyle

Family Division
5.) Bob
6.) Josh
7.) KJ
8.) Kip

*Each week you will select which RB and WR you wish to start from "your" selected NFL team.

See spreadsheet if you which to see the selection process from your list to determine your fantasy team. Tried to make it as balanced as possible, but you need to make a good list! The better your list, the better your team, the better your record, the better your seed, the more likely your chance to win the championship. Note: Byes will be skipped during this period, you will get a starter from an NFL team each week regardless of injuries that prevent NFL players from starting a given week.

Week #5-8 - Points League ... your list means nothing after week #4! You get to select players now, based on your seeding and weekly scoring. Again we will use EVERY team in the league ... their QB, top RB, top WR, TE, K and defense

Week #5 - whomever finishes Week 1-4 as the #1 seed gets the first choice at a QB, remember this is a HEAVY QB scoring league ... Survivor scoring system, check the website for rules. After week #5 the selection process will be based on the points scored during your previous week - highest first, lowest last. There is a HUGE advantage to being in the top four scorers, please make good selections.

Week #9 and #10
Two week positioning heads-up tourney ... you want to be in the top four to get a better seed for the season ending double elimination tournament. Refer to spreadsheet if you would like to study this positioning tourney - top four teams in one bracket, bottom four in the other bracket.

Selecting your players here is different than the first eight weeks. You can pick any player that you have NOT previously used up to this point in the game. It is possible that P. Manning could be on six teams during Week #9, because only two players have used him so far. Then use the same rule for week #10, six "new" players/TEAMS (QB, RB, WR, TE, K, Def) that have not scored points for you thus far. You will be asked to select a unique tie-breaker player as well. You have to use players from "new" teams. That means that if you used P. Manning from above and by week #10 he si hurt you will NOT be allowed to use J. Sorgi. It must be a unique team. You can't use W. Dunn from above ansd now use TJ Duckett. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? It should!

Week #11 through #17

Double elimination Fantasy Football Tourney (with a triple loss required to be eliminated before week #16). I'll explain later, or you can study the spreadsheet.

We have played 10 weeks to get to this point ... your seed from weeks 1-4, 5-8 and 9&10 will determine your OVERALL seed for this championship tournament. The higher your seed, the better your team will be because if you are the #1 seed you get to pick your entire team from QB through defense FIRST, then #2 seed all the way to last place and #8 seeded KJ or whomever!
Then if you advance you get to pick FIRST again (#1 Seed - #8 Seed) each week. Once your team gets two losses, then your roster is set. It is possible, but unlikely that you could lose your first two play-off games and still finish as the runner-up ... see spreadsheet.

If you do not understand some of these rules ... please don't worry about it they will all make sense after a couple of weeks and remember it is only $5, but when you win it is big money, well not really! Most importantly try to make STRONG lists filled with high scoring teams for the first four weeks.

I CAN HARDLY WAIT ... this may be my favor league! I will let you know when I have completed my list and you can submit your list ... for the record KJ is playing this game (I am not playing two teams). He asked me when he could play FF and I told him this season ... this league.
