Rafe Helston is a figure well-known in international circles. His dashing, well-dressed figure may be seen in the corridors of Whitehall, the ballrooms of Vienna, the bedrooms of Paris. A debonair scion of the Royal House of Mirania, young Rafe was educated at Eton and Oxford, returning to his country after graduating with a First in Classics (specialising in some of Ovid's racier works).
The ever-popular Raphael was denied his true place as King of Mirania due to his father's unfortunate marriage; however, his grandfather had the sense to confer upon him the title 'Duc di Mirolani' when he was sixteen. Rafe's aunt, Roxalanne, is now Queen of Mirania. She relies heavily upon the wit and cunning of her remarkable nephew. Rafe has a sister.
Although he has become a powerful figure in international politics, Rafe has never shirked his social duties, and has obliged many a grateful hostess by attending her ball, where he is inevitably flocked by young ladies anxious to make his acquaintance. In recent months, unpleasant rumours have been spread about Rafe's ability to charm the ladies, but we are assured that these are unfounded. Rafe Helston is indeed as attractive and virile as a lady could wish.
After a potential international incident during Queen Roxalanne's wedding, Rafe was betrothed to Elizaveta Arnsonira, the Crown Princess of Belsornia, a neighbouring country. This betrothal was met with gladness by both families, but it became increasingly apparent to those closest to Rafe that Elisaveta was a scheming hussy who was no better than she should be (though the Marine Corps have stoutly denied any and all allegations), and who was incapable of providing the love and support that Rafe so richly deserved.
The couple split recently, and we all hope that Rafe "The Stallion" Helston will find lasting love and happiness with his new young lady, who goes by the mysterious appellation "Liss".
Max - I'm not sure this is quite the note we should be striking. Beomund Ryecester, Head of Privy Council Public Relations Department
Beomund - I don't know what you're talking about. I think this fits in jolly well with the other biogs of the RF. Max
Well, some of the PC and I felt that you're slipping into hagiography. Beomund
LOL!! We're the PC! Of course we're hagiographic. Not that there's much to say about the Duke that's bad, of course. Sterling chap. Max
To be honest, 'hagiographic' wasn't the word that came up. Beomund
*Confused* Beomund, I think I've been quite frank about the Duke. I really
don't see what the issue was. And really, I think the last thing the poor fellow needs
is the PC quibbling over being too nice to him! I mean, really! His b*tch of a fiancée seems to be making his life a living hell spreading untold rumours about him,
and now you want us to refuse to say what a stud nice chap he is! Max
*sighs* Max, I certainly hope you haven't been stalking
visiting the Duke again. You know it took us a while to calm things down after that
episode. Now, I appreciate that you hold the Duke in high esteem, but we want a realistic
portrayal of the RF for this site. Beomund
That was completely misunderstood at the time, Beomund, and I'm
hurt that you've brought it up again. The Duke was fine when it was all explained to him.
As for a realistic portrayal, what's unrealistic about it? It's all true. He's a dynamic
figure of a man. Women even write poetry to him. Look at this:
Raphael is a man above others
He'd never consider as some would
That it's funny to steal the covers
E'en though with his muscles he could
Max, did you write that?
Max, are you there?
Look, Max, you don't need to be ashamed if you did write it, you know.
Max?
