The Return of Magda the Mad

By Liss. Disclaimer: generally, Buffy etc do not belong to me (oddly). They belong to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy. On the other hand, Magdalena and this story do belong to me, so keep your dirty little hands off. Thanks, darlings! |

Part Two
Magdalena looked at the familiar figure in front of her. Angel. She smiled. Then she looked around. The smile disappeared. She wasn’t in Ireland – at least, not anywhere in Ireland that she recognised. Then she remembered that she was in Austria, and the smile returned.
"Angel, what are you doing here?"
Angel looked at her in surprise. "What am I doing here?" Some disorientation was to be expected when one regained one’s soul – after all, he probably was the world’s expert on it – but Magdalena seemed perfectly comfortable with the whole situation.
"At Aunt Caroline’s," Magdalena clarified, growing concerned by Angel’s behaviour. "It is lovely to see you again, don’t think it isn’t, but I’m not going to change my mind, Angel. I can’t marry you, and that’s final."
It was at this stage that the library’s other occupants regained their notable vocal abilities. The appearance of this strange young woman, who had initially been a curse on them all, and whowasaving a conversation with Angel that redefined the word bizarre was two much for Slayer, Watcher and assorted Slayerettes, and the room was filled with questions, exclamations and Xander falling over a chair. It was also at this stage that the suspicion grew on Magdalena that she wasn’t in Austria any more. It didn’t look like Austria. It didn’t sound like Austria. And the other women in the room seemed to be dressed in extremely short clothes.
"Angel?"
Angel saw the worried looks of the two women he loved, and sighed. Explanations would be difficult, particularly as he didn’t think he had any. He decided to leave out the vampire stuff until Magdalena remembered by herself. He knew the memories would return, and he was dreading the look of despair and desperation that would overtake his old friend as she realised what she had been doing in the past couple of hundred years.
"Magdalena, allow me to present Miss Summers, a friend of mine. And these are Miss Chase, Miss Rosenberg, Mr Giles, Mr Harris and…Oz. This is Miss Magdalena Charteris, a neighbour of mine from Ireland." He turned to Magdalena. "We aren’t in Austria. We’re in America."
"America? How am I in America?" Magdalena had had enough of Angel’s foolishness. "Is this some plan to make me marry you, Angel? Are you trying to compromise me? This isn’t like you, Angel. I thought you of all people would respect my decision not to wed."
That’s all for now, but it will be continued – oh yes, it will be continued.
