Stunt Kiting
Kite flying really does give me a sense of freedom. The wind adds the spice of spontaneity that stays with me wherever I go.  Though kite flying, I have developed an awareness of the true power of wind.  If you could imaging the sound of your voice underwater, and then imaging learning to understand, then perhaps you too would enjoy a deeper understanding of the sky.  What a powerful piece of Earth.
The wind is most often invisible, but when I put a kite up in the sky and pull it around it is as if I can see the wind through the pull on my  arms.

During this windy spring of 2001 I have been lucky enough to fly on the shores of Lake Michigan almost every weekend, and usually at night.  Flying kites in the dark is really sensational.  It reminds me of those sensory deprivation studies that end up amplifying certain aspects of the experience while reducing others.  In this case one sees less and feels more.  It is pretty exciting!
