Joy is the daughter of Pete and Carol Flores. She is a member of the Tanedooah family, descendant of Chief Lonewolf and also a Sand Creek Descendant. Joy has three older brothers: Chris, Martin, and Robert.

She is currently a junior at Cache High School and is involved in many activities including the Lawton Intertribal Women's League, Oklahoma Native American Youth Choir, Cache Native American Club, International Club, and the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.

Her past titles were 2000 Jr. Miss Indian Ft. Sill, 2000-2002 Native American Marine Corps Veterans Princess/Jr. Princess, and 2004 Jr. Miss Indian Lawton.

Joy's Candidate Statement

“It has always been a dream of mine to become Kiowa Tribal Princess. Since I was a little girl I have admired past Kiowa Tribal Princesses. If elected Kiowa Tribal Princess 2005, I will do the best of my ability to positively represent my Kiowa people at all times. I will also treat my people with the honor and respect that they deserve and represent the Kiowa People with the knowledge and pride of my culture that has been shown to me. I believe that I can uphold the standards that past Kiowa Tribal Princesses have set. It is truly an honor to be a candidate in this election. Thank you for your support.”
