The next step was to figure out the floorplan.  Our first complication came when we tried to figure out where to put the water heater.  We did not want to cut any of the main supporting structure.  We ended up exchanging our 10 gal. hot water heater for a 6 gal. because the 10 would not fit.  We had the same trouble selecting the location of the refrigerator opening.  After studying the bus manual and the placement of the supporting ribs, we found the perfect place for it.  You will notice that we left one of the cross member supports within the opening.
Red removed all of the bay doors as they were damaged.  He rebuilt and reskinned them with .080 aluminum using the old doors as patterns.   All aluminum was rivoted and epoxy glued.
He removed some of the windows and replaced them with the same skinning material.  The windows he kept he took to our local glass dealer and had them reworked into sliders.  One small window on each side still pop out which can be used for emergency exits.
We removed all the insulation from the ceiling and external walls, placed Thermal Shield (silver bubble), then replaced each piece of insulation (I numbered each piece to be able to be able to replace in original location).  An additional piece of the Thermal Shield was placed forming a third layer.  Red had been very pleased with the Thermal Shield as he had used it on his new office building which has a steel roof.
