Glam Rock meets Kabuki
in the form of
Visual Kei

Visual Kei, or Visual Rock, is the product of both American and Japanese culture used in Rock music.
With its strong Kabuki influences, Visual Kei centers on a group of young men, dressed up in very elaborate
costumes, with sometimes heavy makeup and flashy hairstyles, playing instruments and singing.
Visual Kei, in a way, is just like a play.  The different members of each group take on personas
which he never falls out of character until the band breaks up.
Bands range from 4 and 5 members to 7 or 8 members and are all male.

 Influences on Visual Rock
Its is not uncommon to hear slight influnences from popular rock in America in Visual Rock,
like U2, Tool, and even Korn and Linkin Park.
Other influences come from older music like Pink Floyd.
