As some of you have heard through the grapevine already Kinky will be closing it�s doors due to a lack of staffing on Aug 31, 2008. This was not an easy decision for Melly and I to make, we have dedicated a lot of our time and our hearts and souls to making Kinky what it is this past 11 months but we feel unable to keep up the pace of having to run 80-90% of the tourneys all the time and never feeling like it is enough. We have had a magnificent run, topping the variety pino league in yahoo more often than not since our conception. We walk away a strong league with a great membership and an untarnished reputation, for that we are very proud. If you are a premium member please remember to transfer your buxs to your new league so that you don�t lose them. Kinky will always remain a part of us, a fond memory and a reason to smile. Dear Kinky Family, Several months ago I was asked to join a new league started by my friend Doug and his very good friend Karen. I didn�t know Karen well but was eager to hop on board and get to know more people. After being there for a few months I finally agreed to TD, and from that moment there was no looking back. When Karen asked me to consider an Admin position I was truly honored. To share in the leadership of the best league I had ever been a part of was a great opportunity for me to give back to she and Doug for all they had done for me and my fellow Kinksters. As admin I did my very best to nurture and care for the league that had become my home and the members who had become my family. I would like to thank you all for your investment in Kinky. Our league, its members and what we stand for is something that I am very proud to have been involved with. I wish you all the best of luck at the tables wherever you choose to play. And more importantly I wish you health and happiness in your lives. Finally I would like to take the time to thank my very dear friend Karen. What started as a casual acquaintance has grown into a very deep friendship that I am forever grateful for. Kinksters, This is the really hard part, saying goodbye to the many friends I have made, who have supplied me with so many laughs and good times over the past 11 months. I look back over the past year, at the members who have come and gone and those that joined us along the way and remain, you are all a part of Kinky for me, those memories will last a long time. We truly found a way to take an ordinary gaming league and make it personal, a family, a place where people truly cared about each other and stood up for each other, as anyone who ever witnessed a Kinkster get attacked in the lobby can attest to smiles. A league of compassion and tolerance. I am proud to have called myself a Kinkster, proud to have shared the last year with you, and proud that we managed to come together and prove that it IS possible to have a league without bitterness, without cheating and without drama !!! We go out with our heads held high, and when the name Kinky comes up from time to time we can rest assured that it will be with fondness and integrity. For that I thank you, thank you for being Kinksters, thank you for living our moto, day after day, tourney after tourney. Where do I start? The one element of Kinky that has been unchanging, unfaultering, steadfast, dependable and a physical embodiment of what Kinky stood for was YOU. I remember how hesitant you were to TD, how you put it off till Christmas vacation hoping I would forget smiles. (you wish) You were an ace from the minute you opened the page, completely understanding every little intricacy Tding held, and to this day the one of the very few people who understand 1 vs 1 means exactly that grins !!!!! You have donated your time, your have been ultra committed, you have been the voice of logic and reason. You have TD�d, Recruited, Trained, Refereed, and most importantly befriended those who have walked through our door. No one knows better than me how you truly cared for the Kinksters, how you saw them as family, and did everything you could to make Kinky a comfortable home for them to come relax in. On their behalf I say thank you, for the hard work, for the commitment, and for the love. Now I want to speak on my behalf, to my friend, and I don�t use that term lightly. You have always been there for me, �my rock�, my sounding board, and my shoulder to cry on. You define unconditional, accepting all of me, even the parts you don�t agree with (like there are any !!!!!), don�t understand, or don�t particularly like. Even when you didn�t necessarily agree with me you were always there, backing me and finding ways to make it work. You always knew exactly how to work WITH me even when I dug my lil Dommie boots in. I will miss our collaboration, our joint commitment, our sharing of ideas and ideals. Thank you for being the person you are, thank you for being my friend.
