Dueling

Dueling Separate [b]Physical Appearance:[/b] Kink's appearance mainly comes from his father. His light brown hair is always fixed in different styles with the numerous magical gels Kink owns. Usually his hair will be flipped up in the front to make his round face appear longer and normal. He hates that his complexion is not very dark at all because he doesn't spend much time outside. But his bright blue eyes complement the lack of a his tan. HIs face is always smooth because he doesn't like the look he has with facial hair, nor are his sideburns long for the same reason. Kink's body is very weak and thin, mainly due to the fact that he lets his wanddo most of his work, unlike his father, whose job requires him to stay strong enough to handle wild beasts. Standing six feet tall, one of the traits he receives from his mother's side, his thin body is normally concealed behind the folds of his bulky black robes which he wears to keep his wand handy, but mostly because the black accentuates his eyes. Kink's suspicious and, at times, arrogant nature towards immaturity causes him to carry himself with a heavy awareness. Part of this presense was due to the constant torture he was forced to sustain from his brother as a child. As this bore down on him through his adult years, he learned to be more aware of any activity, moreso with young children who are obviously plotting against him. But this sneer and suspicious look he has with most children does not appear around adults, whom he always finds to be trustworthy. And he no longer has the nervous twitch of his head, but his eyes are always moving, always watching. [b]Personality:[/b] Kink has an acute sense of being able to perceive a dangerous situation and determine the best action. He can anticipate the moves of his opponent, making him a great strategist useful in competitive, as well as real life, dueling. No matter who they might be, Kink would not hesitate to help someone in trouble, especially if they are being bullied. His dueling experience comes in handy in these situations, unless the person who needs help is not being attacked, then any spells he tries to use will probably cause more trouble, but his heart will always be in the right place. Kink reacts differently when he is around adults and children. Most adults he respects because of their maturity and age-old experience. He always thought of himself as very mature because it was how his family treated him. When he found that children his age were much less mature than he, he looked down on them with contempt. Kink didn't show his annoyance externally, but kept it to himdelf by staying away from them. He didn't have many friends his own age, but he had a close relationship with the older students and even some of the faculty. Because of his father's job selling magical animals, Kink has a natureal rappart with animals of all kinds. The only true best friend that Kink ever had when he was a child was his pet crup, Blake. He confided more in the little crup than almost anybody else. He always felt that animals can be more loyal in the wild than any little student at Hogwarts. If it had been his choice, Kink would have brought Blake with him to school, but without his animal friend he was forced to, but found he was capable of, making some friends and finding his place in a clique of older students. [b]History:[/b] Kink Darkmoor was born in London to a normal family, or at least as normal as a magical family goes. His mother, Erin, works at the Ministry of Magic in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, while his father, Trextin, owns a shop in Diagon Alley selling animals and other magical creatures. It is obvious to guess how his parents met. Who knew how much trouble an infant Common Welsh Green Dragon could be. Kink is the youngest of four children. His oldest sister, Madison, moved to France to teach at Beauxbatons as a Transfiguration professor. His next sister, Faith, also works at the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes as a member of the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad. His brother, Brentley, is trying to find a job as a magical musician, failing of course, but trying. When Kink was still young his brother would pick on him a lot, but his sisters would watch out for him. They were the ones to show him how to duel right and defend himself. It took awhile for him to learn, but Kink finally found the way to get revenge on his brother. This could be one reason why he studied dueling, to come up with ways to torture his brother. During Kink's Hogwarts days he wasn't the most attentive person in class. Although at first appearance students might have thought he studied too much. This was true, but the only thing he really ever studied was strategies of dueling, not anything about his classes. This astuteness came from his mother as she always had to work hard at being good in school. His father was different. His father liked to be outside. He was also an excellent Seeker back in his Hogwarts days, but Kink liked the action as a Chaser more than anything. He wasn't really good at Quidditch, but at least he was able to play once every game. He mostly stuck to his dueling club. After Kink graduated Hogwarts he spent most of his time selling animals with his father. Now 25, he has had no idea what kind of career he could pursue until his sister, Madison, suggested he become a teacher like herself. Despite her arguments, Kink did not want to move to France, but instead he applied for a position at Hogwarts where he awaits his destiny. [b]Strengths:[/b] Kink is obviously good with his wand. His knowledge of dueling spells grows every day. He is quite the salesman, getting that quality from his father, so his skills as a teacher are very good. Unfortunately, his skills with students are not. He is a very smooth talker, able to evaluate different kinds of situations to protect himself or others. [b]Weaknesses:[/b] Kink has always had a problem with any kind of transfiguration spells are charms that are not associated with dueling. Moving objects is the worst for him because he cannot control their flight path. He mostly just tries to stay away from anything that might hurt someone, but many times he forgets. His relationships with students are not the greatest because of his mature nature, or what is really an arrogant nature. He could never see himself talking with someone who cannot take on the full responsibilities of an adult, although he cannot see himself that children are not adults. He doesn't approve of many childish things and tends to be creative with his punishments.

He likes to dress in his normal wizard robes so that he can always keep his wand handy, but mostly because the black accentuates his eyes. He is actually very tall for his age, but not by much. His body isn't very big because he is still growing, but mostly he is just normal. His height most account for why he doesn't have much weight on him. He isn't very active, but he hopes to become moreso and play Quidditch when he gets old enough in order to become tougher. Blake was Kink's fifth year birthday present and their bond became tight instantly. The only problem with Blake is that he cannot be around muggles even though his tail was fixed, because when Kink was younger he accidentally put a spell on Blake that turned his spots blue. It was such a confusing spell that his parents could not change him back, and because they did not want to be blamed for letting an underage wizard use magic, they never took the crup anywhere to be changed back. The spots are just one more thing to add to Blake's personality and to strengthen Kink's companionship. Now Kink is about to enter Hogwarts where he hopes all of his dreams will come true and, more importantly, his destiny will be fulfilled. [b]Character Personality:[/b] Growing up in the city, Kink was not around too many kids his age, but his relationships with his siblings made him more mature because they were the closest thing he had as friends and they were all older. Now his relationship with kids his age has become challenging. He doesn't really make friends as fast as others, mostly because he doesn't want to be the one to start a conversation. Kink has more of a natural inclination towards animals of all kinds, a trait he gets from his father because of his job selling magical beasts. He visits his father's shop quite often and plays with the beasts. His pet crup is really his best friend because they have such a great connection with each other. [b]What are your strengths:[/b] Kink is fascinated with wand magic. Charms and Transfiguration are maybe the best classes for him. He can learn spells without as much practice as many of the average students need. His heart is really big and always in the right place. Kink would always be the first one to help somebody in need if it required the use of his wand, especially when someone is being bullied. Kink knows he isn't the best at most things, but he really wants to try and fit in. Although he may be shy, he would apply himself at activities such as the Dueling Club or even Quidditch. He plans to open himself up while he is at school and find his true nature to grow into, especially now that he has a chance to be around all kinds of kids his age. [b]What are your weaknesses:[/b] With other classes that rely on a lot of memorization, such as Potions or Herbology, Kink hits his greastest downfall. He could always try his hardest, but his heart just really isn't in the class. His nature is very shy so that it is really hard for him to make friends unless they are older, like his siblings are. He is a really big pushover with all the hard times his brother has given him, but if someone is picking on him then he wouldn't think twice before putting a spell on them. Kink likes to stand up and be like the adults, but many times it is likely that his attitude will get him into trouble. Being too old too soon is definitely a weakness for him. Although he may think he is having an adult discussion on the effects of eye of newt mixed in with the blood of a dragon to make a non-toxic potion that will NOT remove a grass stain, he is more or less skating on thin ice by having a synchophantic crisis. [b]Hobbies and Interests:[/b] In his spare time, Kink likes to play with Blake. The little crup needs more looking after than a Hungarian Horntail. But Kink really has fun with him. Because of his father's shop and his mother's job, Kink loves to see the natural habitats of different beasts. He was fortunate enough to go on a trip to Germany to search for a unicorn with his parents in the Black Forest. He surely cannot wait to go searching through the famous Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts to see all the magical beasts kept hidden from the lives of muggles. Kink really isn't an outdoor person, though, that is to say, he doesn't like to go play games like most normal kids do, unless he could go floor on a hippogriff. But he loves to walk the beautiful scenery of a garden or a lake at night. Kink would be particularly interested in competitive dueling because he has much practice against his brother, thanks to his sisters. That would also go along with his skills using his wand. Perhaps competition is what Kink really needs to break out of his shell.
