India was once called ‘gold bird’ but colonialism made it one of the poorest countries in the world. India had driven the colonial powers out of India and unlike other British colonies India didn’t let the British settle in India forever.

In the first major war India ever faced, was against Pakistan. The reason of the war was the partition of Pakistan. Bangladesh requested India to help them in getting the freedom. And India did so. Pakistan protested against that. Even United States of America supported Pakistan. But because of the strong Indian air force, India won that war. That war decided who was stronger.

Non-aligned movement (NAM) was started by Indian former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru against the two other blocs, not to fight but to form peace in the world.

Development

India after getting looted by the colonial powers has managed to develop, upto the standards of rest of the world. It is now important trading nation of the world. India has now developed the life saving drugs, which are now used by the world. Indian people are now working all over the world and are now key members of that country. The predictions say that the next developed country will be India.
