2001 Southern States Classic

These are pics from the "2001 Mr. & Mrs. Natural Southern States Classic & Xtreme Fit Championships" that was held on April 14th, 2001.  I started dieting in mid-December weighing 230.  I did cardio five mornings per week that consisted of 30 minutes of stepper and 30 minutes of bike.  I alternated calves and abs every morning after my cardio session.  I did my normal workout routine 4 nights per week.  Monday: Chest/Tri's, Tuesday: Quads/Hams, Wednesday:  Off, Thursday:  Shoulders/Traps, Friday:  Back/Bi's.

The morning of the show, I weighed in at 179, a 51 pound loss from my 230 pound start.  I'm not sure what my bodyfat was, but I was as shredded as I've ever been in my life.  I ended up taking 2nd in the Novice Men's Tall class and 4th in the Open Men's Tall.  (FYI:  All-Natural shows are divided up into height classes instead of weight classes.)  One week before the show, we were all polygraphed and had a urinalysis done, just to make sure that the playing field was equal.
