When we finally realize that there is nothing we can do FOR Christ we can go forward in our service. Is this not a revelation in itself? When we met Him face to face we were ready to pour out our time and energy into furthering His kingdom. How many of you got REAL tired after just a short time? I did. I did not realize that when you stop and wait on God for you assignments, you have all the energy in the world. I was seeking every opportunity to assist the Creator of this world in His purpose for the it. How presumptuous we are. I decided that my newfound salvation was what God had needed and now He could go on with His plans. Well, do I have news for you. He does not need you or me. He is perfectly capable to taking care of business with one Word spoken. I want you to know however He may not need you, but He does WANT you. He chose you for goodness sakes. He desires your presence in His loving purpose for those that are around you. We are the current He uses to send His electric message through. You know the one, the one that knocked you off your feet! So if He doesnt need me to accomplish His workwhy should I bother doing anything? Well, simply because He asked us to. Because He finds joy in our obedience, because He laughs to Himself at our vain attempts to try to do things without Him and loves it when we stop and say Lord, I am sorry, now how do You want it done? (Did you know God laughs?) He was merciful enough to give us to choice to serve Him or not. He delights when we choose Him. Are you getting the picture here? He is building a RELATIONSHIP with us. He is trying to help us understand Him more with each passing assignment. Isnt that glorious! His heart leaps with anticipation each time the next assignment is placed before us. Are you accepting it or rejecting it. Are we willing to carry out the plans the way He desires or do we think we accomplish the task more efficiently than the Man that molded you out of dust. It is up to you. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. From the searching thoughts of Laura Dee Allen in the year of our Lord August 5, 2000. |
