The Night Of Jesus' Birth
'Twas not a silent night, the night of Jesus' birth.
The town was filled with mayhem and the inn was full of mirth.
Travellers and peddlers roaming through the night
and everywhere I turned there were soldiers in my sight.
For Caesar himself, a decree had made to tax the people so.
Each one to his own city quickly he must go.
Behind the hustle and the bustle, hidden from their sight,
was a special blessing God had planned just for that night.
Angels told the shepherds, who came with haste to see.
They entered in the stable and bowed upon their knee.
The wisemen also came to see they traveled from afar.
They found the blessed child by following His star.
Yet in the Temple holy God's people did not know
the mighty God, their Savior was born in a manger low.
So it is today my friend that people miss his birth.
It seems that it gets hidden in their merriment and mirth.
Don't let this Christmas pass you by like those of long ago,
for it is the birth of Christ, the Savior you must know!
