The Spirit of God is like water
that satisfies the soul.
He cleanses us from sin
and makes the wounded whole.
He fills the empty place
that's deep within each heart.
He satisfies our longings
and provides a brand new start.
Without God's Spirit's filling,
our souls are rough and dry.
Without His Spirit's cleansing
our souls are doomed to die.
After His resurrection,
Christ said he'd go away,
but promised us a comforter,
whom he said would always stay.
The Holy Spirit lives with us
to guide us through our lives
and through the Spirit's working,
the Chrisitan soul survives.
