King's and Grantham Church School have finally received the 'Business and Enterprise College' status! It was internally announced today, and the schools will be receiving substantial amounts of money due to the new status. As you may have seen the school has just got 90 brand new computers. Maybe this will give King's Technology College status too! With the newly received status it looks very likely that the petrol station site will be built on in the near future.

If any of you know people from KG who may want to see the website, and join the forum please do so, using the Tell a Friend form on the Interact page, or by any other way! The KG news for the site, and KG section in the forum are looking very thin, so more members from KG to keep us up to date would be appreciated.

Rumors have it that the PE teacher to replace Mr. Ferguson (King's) at the end of this school year is going to be a female tennis player, although this is not yet confirmed. Any more details on this story will be on the site as fast as we can get the information.

21st June 2003

Sorry about the Mini Message Board on the Interact page - it hasn't been working! It's all working again now, and ready for posts! The good thing about it is that you don't need to register to post, and it can also be used as a shout out board, or a chat room!

A Contact us page has now been added, so it is easier to post your comments or news directly to us.

21st June 2003

Good luck to all those who will be doing exams next week! If you need help revising for things why not try BBC Bitesize revision. Even if you aren't doing your SATs, GCSEs, AS Levels or A Levels this year you will still find it useful to revise from!

20th June 2003

Teachers leaving KG at the end of the year are thought to be: Dr. Simpson, Miss Wittion, Miss Edwards and Ms. Loj. If there are any more teachers leaving, please post their names in the forum thread on teachers leaving KG so I can put it up on the site.

14th June 2003

Just in case you are wondering how long it is until the end of term, there is now a countdown to it at the bottom of this page. (Now on homepage)

9th June 2003

I have now changed the forum so you must be an active member (2 posts or above) to access the general section. This is to get more posts and news into the King's and KG sections. If you can't see the General section anymore it is because you are an inactive member. You must post more to see this section.

7th June 2003

Apologies about the forum! It seems to be very bad at the moment. I will see about upgrading to a different forum.

3rd June 2003

Back to school... It's going to be a very long half term - 7 weeks until the summer holidays!

2nd June 2003

On the forum there is a Calendar, which has dates of the school year on. If you would like to view it please Register, or login to the forum. If there is something that you think should be on the calender, but isn't please e-Mail us.

Although the registration page looks a bit menacing most of you will keep to the rules anyway. Just enter your username and e-Mail address and scroll down to click 'I Agree' then 'Register'.

1st June 2003

Congratulations to Polly Durrance from KG who has won the title of Carnival Princess 2003! We all wish you the best of luck in the future, and for the parade! Full Story at Grantham Today.

So the King's Petrol station fence was destroyed again earlier this week, although it has now been mended again. What do you think the school should consider making the petrol station into? How safe do you think the temporary fencing is? Post comments in the forum.

30th May 2003

What would you want to see on this site in the future? We can add almost anything to the site at all that you request! If you want to see something on here just e-Mail us and we will try our hardest to include it in the site!

Also, please tell people about the site (and forum)! It's not going to get anywhere without a little help from you!

We want the forum to be a way of you saying what you really think about your school! You can remain anonumous in the forum, so take advantage of that and voice you views!

27th May 2003

Mr. Ferguson from King's will be doing an exchange with a teacher from New Zealand, so he will not be leaving King's at the end of this school year. Instead, however, he will be teaching in New Zealand for a year, and King's will have a teacher from New Zealand to teach PE at King's.

24th May 2003

Half Term has finished! I hope you all have a very enjoyable half term. Keep Checking back, as although it's half term, we will still keep you informed with any new news from King's or KG!

Teachers leaving KG at the end of this school year include Dr. Simpson, but I am not quite sure who else is leaving. Please can someone (anyone) give me more information on who is leaving KG?

17th May 2003
The mess up day at King's yesterday wasn't very good. Hardly any pranks and all the teachers getting, shall we say, a little 'annoyed' by the rain. Shorruck shouldn't have confiscated all of the footballs - it's a bloke school and taking away the one thing we still are allowed to do of the male instinct didn't seem that fair...
17th May 2003
King's will be re-inspected by Ms. Barkley on Friday the 16th May (this coming Friday). The Headmaster insists everyone should be on best behavior.
12th May 2003
The forum is currently being a bit dodgey, so if you get an error whilst on it wait for about half a minute then try again! Also, if you forget your password e-Mail me and I will e-Mail you back with a new password, that you can then change to your desired one.
11th May 2003
KG's non-uniform day due to be held on the 9th of May has been cancelled! People were told about it at the beginning of the week. Place your comments about this in the forum.
8th May 2003

Kings is re-submitting the joint entry with Grantham Church School for a Business and Enterprise College Status. The last submission was turned down, and as a result of the resubmission there will be inspectors in school on one of the coming Fridays, I will try and find out the date. The senior management have requested that all pupils should be dressed nealy and be well mannered for the inspection.

Investigation into what goes into an application for the status revealed that a one hundred page document has to be created about the applying school. Getting the status would allow the school to have extra funds, which would hopefully see the Petrol Station built on.

7th May 2003
Welcome to the King's and KG combined unofficial site! The site and forum have now both been launched. The forum is well worth a look, as it contains many sections for all interests. Please join the forum and start posting! It will only become decent if people post. We hope to add more information to the site at least weekly, so check back frequently!
3rd May 2003

Deputy head, Mr. Reading from King's is leaving to become headmaster at Carre's Grammar School. Also leaving King's at the end of this year is Mr. Gumpert, Mr. Kirkby, Dr. Everett and Mrs Hutchinson. If any more teachers are likely to be leaving we will keep you informed. Mr. Gumpert leaving to go to another school, Mrs Hutchinson will most likely carry on teaching, but in another school and it is thought that Mr. Kirkby and Dr. Everett will both retire.
