I found the white compote on the left at an antique store in Roseville, CA. It is taller than a normal compote. I'm not sure if it was made like this, if it was an accident, or if someone vandalized it. It looks like a legitimate piece of glass and a very nice addition to my collection.
The vandalized theory has been busted by a gal up in the state of Washington. She has written in and said she also has the taller milk glass compote. Seems strange that someone would travel around the country stretching compotes. Must be a legitimate piece. Since the email I have seen several of these stretched compotes. Only in the white though. hummm.
