I told my husband today that I was feeling antique withdrawals and asked if he minded if I took off by myself to go through 1 antique mall. I don't know why, but dragging 2 young "bored out of their gourd" children along just isn't my idea of antique shopping. Being the wonderful man that he is I was off straight to the closest antique mall. I needed to make it kind of quick, because he had to get to work in a few hours.

Since I only search for King's Crown I'm a pretty fast looker. 6 purple goblets in the first row $9.50 a piece...who are they kidding. 2 large blue salad bowls in the 2nd row...know a girlfriend who wants one $21.50 each guess they're staying here. 8 purple sherbets in the 3rd row $6...not too bad, but I don't need them. Cranberry goblets, sherbets, salad plates don't need any of those in the 4th row. There's a really beat up relish tray in the 4th row if it's still there I'm going to pick it up...nope it's gone. Hope it found a good home. Amber compote $14.50... I only buy those if they're $4 and under. Cranberry platter with star in the middle...just traded for one of those don't need it. It's awfully nice looking...what...what is that red tag by the white price... 50% off! I must bring it down for a closer inspection. Hmmmm $80 marked down to $40...what's this... a 2 tiered indention in the middle. My Tiffin platter doesn't have that. I don't think this is a platter, it's probably the bottom half to the chip and dip set! I MUST HAVE IT! Off to the cashier I go...ahhhh I've had my antique fix.

But seriously I wanted to point out taking the time to get a close look at items while shopping. I might have passed this platter by had I not seen the sales sticker. I would have passed up a unique piece for my collection. So, even if you are in a hurry take a few seconds to get a good look at piece of King's Crown to make sure it is not something you need for your collection.
