Enron and Why People and Politicians are Morons

That means you!

-------------------
I was just in a restaurant with the TV on CNN and "Novak" and that was the straw that broke this camel's back. Let's start with Enron. I think I am the only person in america that doesn't give a shit about Enron. I don't care, not even a little. First people get fired, it happens. Two, I guess they got screwed but it doesn't seem like a big a deal as people are making it out to be. It's turned into a witch hunt for anyone with money, like in Charlotte, but I'll get to that later. God help any older white man with money, I mean he's got to be evil, right. I'm sure Lay is an asshole, so? I'm sure Dan Rather, Brokaw, every news man and lady are too, but people eat up every thing that falls from their mouth. And I listen to talk radio and all these callers who really don't understand the sitution outside the blurb that thier local newsboy told them ("This just in, Enron is in league with the devil, and he sold all his stock before the collapse.").
On to politicians. They are mostly morons. I used to support some and stuff, and still believe they will do good stuff occasionally. But I'm tired of the party shit. The republicans act like scared schoolgirls and the democrats as holier-than-thou know-it-alls who know what is best for us cause we certainly couldn't know. I think we should have a secret vote in the senate and stuff, no peer pressure. Nobody knows how you vote. Then the old ladys and tree-huggers and whoever will want to know that their man or woman voted their way. They all just want to cover their asses so that they have a job for the next 6 or 2 or however many years. If you lied at any other job that much you would be fired in an instant. I mean like here in Raleigh. All the "nice" people voted "Meeker for Mayor", I mean he supported the loop (a road around Wake county). Now after he's been elected he says when he says he wanted to finish the loop he only meant one section that is currently under construction. Who in their right mind thinks a loop is just one section? A politician who wanted to get elected really bad, that's who.
On to Charlotte. Once a place I thought was pretty cool. I mean at least its a real city (not quite the Atlanta it's want too though), not like Raleigh which tells itself it's a real city. If computers take over the world, Raleigh is one of the first places to go down, plus it geeky-nerdsville. In Charlotte the Hornets are threating to leave. So the city had a big discussion and finally decided to put it to a vote. Let the people decide they said. Well, now we know the reason they did that was because they wanted to be re-elected and if they went with the majority of people then they had a better chance of re-election. Now that the election is over they want to go ahead with the area. Now the people(morons) of Charlotte realize that the Hornets really are leaving and want them to stay. Before they were under the impression that Charlotte was just too great a place for them to leave. I will take the Charles Barkley viewpoint on this, where would you rather live, Charlotte or New Orleans, N.O., everytime. Charlotte is town of old men. Business men, not exactly the most exciting people in the world. Charlotte's nightlife consists of yuppie bars. All these bussiness people (except the ones who own the big bussineses cause they actually think) think about their money. I don't want my money to pay some millionaire basketball player. First didn't pay to see that millionaire Jimmy Buffet the last 10 times he came through town? At least the basketball players have some talent. Second, none of these people would turn down a salary of million or more dollars if offered so why should the basketball players? I can see these bussiness guys now "No sir, just pay me the bare minimum, I don't need all that extra money." Sure.
