| DVD Reviews:
SEASON ONE Hi I'm Henry Rempel I've brought you such articles as the Staff Bio's and this review. Okay so season 1 wasnt the best season but it still packed the great 13 episodes (the company man was a holdover). The episodes that have a commentary have a * next to them. Disc 1: Pilot* Square peg The order of the straight arrow* Luannes saga Hanks got the willes Disc 2: Westie side story* Hanks unmentionable problem* Shins of the father* Peggy the boggle champ Disc 3: Keeping up with our joneses Plastic white female* The company man* King of the ant hill* All 13 great episodes are in prodution order which I have always loved as I think it creates better consistency. Sound and Video: There are both spanish and english 2.0 dolby souround sound the show sounds crisper and clearer than ever and the videos no different than on tv oh well cant have it all. Menus and Packaging: I have never been a fan of this packaging okay i hate it who ever invented them can beep beep sorry but the menus make up for that there's an intro by hank bobby and dale on there specific discs, 1 for hank 2 for bobby and 3 for dale. I love disc 2s menu espesialy the other two are simple but effective Extras: You've got 8 commentaries the 2 by Greg Daniels are my favorite, Klay Hall talks on the other 2, and there are 4 in charecter comentares, 2 by bill (stephen root) and dale (johnny hardwick), 2 by peggey (kathy najimy) and bobby (pamela segall). I personly perfer the crew commentaries amd found the charecter ones to drag. Then theres a couple promos, around 50 deleted scenes, and a really cool 23 minute making of king of the hill featurette, an awsome animators guide, character bios, and a pointless bare naked ladies music video. Summary: All in all the best of the king of the hill sets extra wise 3rd episode pov a great set and definate buy for all Koth fans. 9/10 Henry Rempel. |
