| Deities
of Fangea |
|
It was once believed that there were
six deities worshipped in the lands of Fangea. The first and oldest, is
Gaea, the Earth Mother. She is believed to have preceded all other
deities, but regarded by most as either dormant, dead or departed.
However, it is she who is revered by the Druids, the Sacred Order of
Gaea, the believers in spirituality based on the land on and by which
all life thrives. The Druids do not refute the existence of other gods,
but consider them mere children of Gaea. While most would do nothing to
offend these new gods, the Druids maintain the protection of the earth
and the natural order of balance in the cosmos through the worship of
Gaea and the guardianship of those she created: the trees, plants and
wildlife of the world.
While
those of various religions deny this, the theological evidence that Gaea
is the Mother of All has become more and more difficult to argue with.
Additionally, the human world is discovering more and more clues
regarding the other gods, not commonly worshipped by mainstream
humanity. Jester, god of mischief and gambling, Titus, god of giants and
humanoid monsters, Bestia, goddess of beasts, and Dracos, goddess of
Dragons and reptiles, have all recently resurfaced. |
