Goals
- To pursue and achieve an Associates Degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail school of media and entertainment located in Winter Park, Florida.
- To successfully finance this degree through Government student loans where possible, supplemented by private loans if necessary.
- To repay these loans in a timely and responisible manner.

- Mix Magazine's Prestigious TEC award three years in a row

- Named by Shift Magazine as one of the top ten schools for new media in the nation.
- Full Sail is located in Winter Park, Florida, a suburb of Orlando. It is within a reasonable distance of several major business centers.
- Affordable and clean housing is readily available within walking distance of the school, often times at a discount to Full Sail students.
- Winter park and the Orlando Metropolitan area is home to a comprehensive public transportation system which includes a bus system, a light-rail system and a commuter rail system.
Facts about Carl Smith
- Graduated from Riverton High School in June 2001. While a student at Riverton High School, was active in Drama, Stage Tech, Electronics and Music.
- In charge of sound for Riverton High's production of Fiddler on the Roof and South Jordan Arts Council's Production of Meet Me in St. Louis as well as being assistant engineer on several other dramatic and community productions.
- Recieved Eagle Scout Award. Coordinated project to demonstrate leadership skills, which included convincing teenage boys to sew quilts for Primary Childrens' Hospital.
- Employed since October 2000 at Musicians' Friend. Promoted to Customer Service Agent in August 2001. Promoted again to Assistant Team Lead in May 2002. Responsibilites include overseeing and supervising 10 - 20 people, dealing with escalated situations and maintaining the building's security system.
- Previous employment included Movie Director (a promoted position) at Hollywood Video for almost two years and Delivery Driver for Apple Spice Junction for approximately one year.

- Cost of Full Sail Tuition: $27,075
- 10 Year Loan at 7% interest: $315 per month
- 15 Year Loan at 7% interest: $245 per month
- Cost of Full Sail Tuition plus one year's rent: $31275

- Cosigner's name may be removed from the private loans after successful payments are made for one or two years dependent on the specifics of the loan

Contract Stipulations
- In a contract to be negotiated and signed by both myself and my parents, my parents would agree to the following:
- Cosign on student loans for first semester of school at Full Sail and possibly, an amount to be negotiated to cover, in part or in full, living expenses in the form of one year's rent.
- Provision will be made for cosigning on a second semester if proper academic and financial conditions are met during the term of the first semester.
- In exchange for cosigning for Student loans, I am willing to sign a contract with the following conditions:
- I will maintain a B+ or greater grade point average at all times. If my GPA falls below this point, my parents reserve the right to terminate my enrollment at Full Sail. At this point, all unused loans would be returned to the financing entity that made the loan and I will be solely responsible for it's repayment. Also, if my GPA falls below this point, my parents may opt out of cosigning for second semester student loans.
- I will send regular correspondance to my parents via email or mail informing them of my progress, current projects, and current grades.
- I will make every effort to conserve financially and live under my means with as much as possible remaining and being deposited into a proper savings account.
- I will seek part-time employment, concurrent and compatible with my educational endeavors, to pay for my physical needs, i.e. food, clothing, etc.
- Upon graduation from the program, I will seek employment within the industry to reimburse my loans in a timely and responsible manner.
- I will make every payment on tim eand in full.
- If payments are not made, in full and on time, my parents have full rights to take proper legal action against me to be fully reimbursed for any damages inflicted by breach of this contract.
