Icarus
You see this painting? although it is titled "the fall of Icarus", one actually has to search for him! (right below the ship) The farmer kept on ploughing, the ship scarcely paused, and the shepherd didnt lose a wink of sleep that night. So to put it extremely crudely, even if the sun is the only thing that could possibly be higher, the world still doesnt revolve around you. Read this poem for more on this.
Sirrah, come hither, tis no time to jest
And therefore frame Your manners to the time.
If thou be not willing and with a heart
Set as thy mind, i shall hear not of it.
No longer will our ears thy tongue suffer
Which has little to say despite its speech
Long and hard, have i been more tolerant
Than You deserved. You turned your back on me
In harsher times, while i stood by Your side
When You needed a friend so desperately
But You were blind to the side that matters.
Rewards come not from dismissing colleagues
But embracing their endeavors in heart.
Our closed-minded progress falls sort of our
Aspirations, too much so, i cant breathe
Your air of stifling pestilence suff'cates
To the point everything loses meaning.
You only live once, dont waste it like this
For your own good, open up take a breath.
If it comes to abandonment, dont think
Others will be as forgiving as i.
Youve met those who've hated you at hello
And this is no small number. Take a hint.

If from this lecture, thou hast nothing gained,
Think You not the victor, for its short-lived
Also, think me not a failure in life
Change comes from within, when sturdy wind blows.
But change provok'd shallows to change of soul
If i have accomplished nothing, know this:
Comforted in Your hillside vantage point,
Do not savor comfort, it is not Yours
The more land You see, the more land sees You,
And this burden you will be forced to bear.
You can probably tell I wrote this in two sittings. half of it is vaguely shakespearean, the rest is more contemporary. two totally different states of mind. as usual, 10 syllables each. oh yeah i wrote it for my Good Buddy Bradley.

The first two lines are borrowed from Lucentio in "Taming of the Shrew". at the time, i had them flying through my head, so i just wrote them down to start the ball rolling.
