| Rudy 2: Playoffs?!?! |
| This movie takes place in the present. Rudy is now around 50 years old. We discover that Rudy's dreams of playing for Notre Dame were all a sham. Rudy's real dream is to play in the NFL. On his 50th birthday, Rudy reveals his true life long dream to his family and friends. Rudy's father is less than thrilled by this revelation. "Bah!" he says to his son, with his hand raised up. Just like in the original film, Rudy sets off on a journey to live his dream. He ends up at the Colts' training camp, where his old friend Roman Steele is now the head coach. Despite his old age, Rudy out hustles and out works his younger competition, earning himself a spot on the Colt's roster. He doesn't start, but he's just happen to be down on the sideline wearing a jersey. His teammates are quick to give him a hard time, because of his age. Rudy refuses to let it get to him and slowly begins to earn their respect. The Colts end up making it to the Super Bowl. Their opponents, the Philadelphia Eagles. Roman promised Rudy earlier in the season, that if the Colts made the Super Bowl, he would let Rudy in the game for one play. The Colts are up by 2 with just seconds left in the game. The Eagles are in field goal range and bring out the kick team. Rudy's teammates begin chanting "Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!" The fans join in on the cheering. Coach Steele puts Rudy in. Everything goes in slow motion as the ball is snapped, put in position, and kicked. Rudy squeezes past his blockers and has a flashback of his famous sack at Notre Dame. Inspired by the flashback, Rudy squeezes through his blockers and flies right into the kicker, driving him hard into the ground. The camera switches back to the football, which sailed wide right. A flag is thrown. Roughing the kicker on Rudy! The Eagles get to re-kick the ball 15 yards closer. This time they make it and win the Super Bowl. The movie ends with Rudy running for his life from his angry teammates. |
