Football Success!
I've been coaching football for about 10 years now and I've made a few observations here and there on how to be successful in the game.
1.  Punting the ball is the worst thing you can possibly do.  Even if you're facing 4th and 100 on you're own 1 yard line!, don't punt the ball.  Instead, use that extra down to try to put some points on the board.

2.  It is absolutely crucial that you rough the opposing teams kicker, punter, and quarterback as often as possible.  You must put the fear of god in them.

3.  Just because your team is losing, don't give up on your running game.

4.  ALWAYS make sure you have somebody blitzing.

5.  Defense doesn't win championships.  The coach wins championships.

6.  Turnovers have no impact on the outcome of the game.

7.  Emphasize to your team the importance of getting the crowd into the game.

8.  Three words....no huddle offense!!!

9.  You can never be too overconfident, no matter the situation.

10.  Fair catches are for wimps.  If an opposing player calls for a fair catch, make sure your special teams don't allow him to make that catch.

11.  Every player is expendable.

12.  Make sure one of your players gets a good shot in on the opposing coach, even if he is nowhere near the sidelines.

13.  The only field goal worth kicking is over 60 yards.

14.  Have your players pitch the ball if they are going to be tackled.  Those rugby guys are definitely on to something.

15.  Accidents happen.... make sure your team gets a few cheap shots in on the referee.

16.  Always take the wind over the ball in OT.

17.  If you're quarterback performs poorly, teach him a lessen.  Teach your O-Line to take a couple plays off.  A few sacks are no big deal, as long as the QB learns his lessen.

18.  An onside kick is always a good idea, no matter what the game is like.

19.  Playoffs?!?!!?  Did you just say playoffs?!?!?

20.  The option pass is the stupidest play ever created.  Use it at your own risk.

21.  Finally, there is no such thing as unnecassary roughness.
