NOTES AND QUOTES:
07/23/06 - I love my team. My "Young Guns". What a likable bunch of kids. Especially Denny and Carl. They are all starting to click right as the run to The Chase begins. I may not win the title this year, but I hope to finish better than 6th. Commissioner Fisher
07/23/06 - Smokeless Blows! Commissioner Fisher
07/23/06 - "I can't stand getting wrecked and getting the finger by the same guy." Carl Edwards
07/28/06 - FLOYD LANDIS WAS FRAMED! All Mennonites have naturally high levels of testosterone. Comissioner Fisher
08/26/06 - It was discussed and adopted at Slipchuck's Bristol party, that we would award end of the year bonus points to the Nextel Cup Drivers that were in the Chase. The Champion would receive 10 extra points. Position 2 (+9 points), Position 3 (+8 points), Position 4 (+7 points), Position 5 (+6 points), Position 6 (+5 points), Position 7 (+4 points), Position 8 (+3 points), Position 9 (+2 points) and Position 10 (+1 point). This will reward the teams that were knowledgeable enough to pick the Champion and also the Chase drivers. Comissioner Fisher
08/31/06 - I was wondering, if the bonus points would have been used last year, would I have still won the Championship? 2005 1st Freak 179 points (bonus Smokeless 10, Newman 4, Matt 3) Total = 196 (1st) 2005 2nd C. Todd 132 points (bonus Biff 9, Kurt 6) Total = 147 (2nd) 2005 3rd Murph 89 points (bonus Carl 8, Mark 5) Total = 102 (3rd) 2005 4th Slipchuck 44 points (bonus Jimmie 7, Rusty 2) Total = 53 (4th) 2005 5th Speedracer 27 points (bonus 0) Total = 27 (5th) 2005 6th Big Ron -40 points (bonus Gordon 1) Total = -39 (6th) Kind of interesting. None of the positions would have changed, but this year will definitely be different. Every point will count. Hey, maybe I even have a chance to repeat. (Not likely with possibly just one Chase contender in Denny) Comissioner Fisher
11/19/06 - Congratulations to Shannon "LINE-PRO" Weaver on his 2006 Rookie Season Championship. Commissioner Fisher
12/15/06 - Except for Brian Vickers, I want my same team back for 2007. "Poster Boy" Carl Edwards, Denny "The Kid" Hamlin and Clint "Jack" Bowyer. Commissioner Fisher
01/21/07 - Well, the Saturday night 2007 Draft at Big Ron and Kathy's was great. Thanks again guys. In the end, Carl Edwards was stolen from me by my own Cousin Todd in the first Round. And he had the balls to laugh about it too! I thought Brian Vickers with Doug Richert as crew chief would be the best Toyota pick, but Slipchuck gathered him in the 4th Round. My hunch of the evening and also my only Ford driver would be David "Gilligan" Gilliland in the M&M's car. He started to show something at the end of 2006. My sole Dodge pick was from a guy who is on the upward move. In 2006 Scott Riggs was fighting in the top-10 a lot and so I picked him in the 3rd round. But at least I would have two of my guys from last year. For the 3rd consecutive year, I got the Jack Daniel's car and Clint "Jack" Bowyer in the 2nd Round. Like Line-Pro told me, Clint is "ready to break out!" And for my number one Draft pick - Murph just like 2005 had the 1st pick and had taken Matt Kenseth, who ended up being the NUMBER ONE DRAFT PICK FOR 2007. Big Ron picked second and took Jimmie over Jeffy. Then Cousin Todd snatched Carl from me and it was a no-brainer for me. The 4th pick and my #1 Draft pick was Denny "The Phenom" Hamlin. I think he will be the kid who beats the Sophomore jinx that Carl Edwards had last year and Kasey Kahne had two years ago. The remaining 1st round picks went like this: Line-Pro chose Kasey Kahne for the second year in a row. Throttle Rocket stole Tony Stewart from Speedracer . Slipchuck was left with her Jeffy Boy and we ended the first Round with Speedracer getting his beloved Junior. All the Teams look like they could be contenders. Good Luck everyone in 2007. A new year and a new beginning. Commissioner Fisher
02/01/07 - Big Ron mentioned that he noticed a DNQ (-2 points) was less than if a Driver made the race and DNF'd (-4 points) which seemed that a Driver not qualifying for a race should be penalized more than one who had qualified for the race. Thus, by a majority ruling, it was decided and adopted on 01/31/07 that "Any Mid-Atlantic NASCAR Points Challenge Championship Team with any Driver not qualifying for any race will receive (-5 points) per Driver". Commissioner Fisher
02/08/07 - Big Ron mentioned a month ago that he had heard rumors of this on Jayski.com and on February 7th, it was confirmed that Kyle Petty would be doing fifteen races in the Broadcast Boooth. And so as not to penalize Murph again this year (i.e. Jeremy Mayfield in 2006), it was unanimously decided that Bob could pick a new #4 driver from the ones still available...and Murph chose...In the #88 Car, driving for Robert Yates ... Welcome Back...Mr. RICKY RUDD. Nice pick Bob and good luck with him. Commissioner Fisher
02/23/07 - Kevin Hardick has about the ugliest uniform that I have ever seen. Reminds Tony Stewart of Ronald McDonald and reminds me of a New Holland Baler. Hardick does seem to be nicer this year as does Not-as-Fat Tony. Commissioner Fisher
02/10/07 - "Let's face it, D.E.I. without Dale Junior is just a museum." Ed Hinton - NASCAR Columnist for the Orlando Sentinel
03/18/07 - I don't know who I despise (to dislike intensely; loathe) more - One Eye Brow Boy Johnson with his, "I'm the Champion so you better bow down to me" attitude or his pal, the Eternal Whiner, Chad Knaus. Commissioner Fisher
