Sorry about e-mailing you on both addresses, but I wasn’t sure if you’d stick with your valikorlia e-mail for long. It’s finally obvious to everyone that the hype of being a new server has worn off for staff and players alike. I noticed people leaving even before I wrote you last. The continuous influx of new people might have made the problem seem unimportant to people who didn’t personally know the players that were leaving. If we had a meeting, maybe once a week with ACTIVE nation leaders, maybe even players, you should be able to get some ideas of what to fix and improve on the server. Even if they don’t get the “big picture,” they should see things that you don’t since they’d have different perspectives, jobs, friends. I won’t beat around the bush. The LATs didn’t know they needed to listen to Drakus. They did whatever they wanted, or thought they should do. Drakus didn’t get accomplished what he wanted and felt it was pointless for him being LAT Chief, he quit at least twice before this time. Sometimes I think even owners need to be held accountable. Everything that happens on this server is the responsibility of the owner and down the line each person is responsible for less. No one of any rank has made much of a plan for the server or a list of rules for staff or a way for to get info on what others are doing, a way to contact each other. Someone needs to take responsibility for a page getting up, staff getting their jobs done, general server maintenance and improvement. As the oldest player in the game, I’d just like to tell people not to give up. Running a server is a hard thing. ALL servers have up and down times. If people stick around through the bad and keep improving this server into something great and not just give up, people will come back when they see this server has something to offer that others don’t and continues to offer new things to do and fun people to experience rping with. Now back to the point. Since no one else has bothered: THE PLAN!: 1. Give staff accounts to VGETS and the webmaster. Not for power purposes, but so they are included in staff discussion and have a general idea of what is going on. 2. Return Val to its historical renaissance timeline. Bring back Taron’s cannons and give Alkaria their muskets. I don’t think they were even that big of a deal except that the people who were in favor of muskets became impatient and overstepped their bounds in arguing their case, or just arguing in general. Well I can’t say they overstepped anything since no intra-staff RULES have been set after all this time. There was a time when I agreed that you should stand your ground and not give them muskets, just because they whined enough for it. But their attitudes aside, I thought they only made since gunpowder always existed here and it would give a slight, but needed morale boost to the staff. 3. (not top priority) Eventually change the overworld map to a normal real time, real size map like every other server. If you don’t trust my judgement on this, notice one thing. Virtue agrees to keep it overworld and everyone else doesn’t. Virtue has repeatedly proven to have wrong judgement in important decisions. I wouldn’t even trust him to hire NATs. Virtue would be able to tell who is skilled, but he hires people who put on a nice smile while he’s around, he still has no judge of character. Cases in point: hiring Magnus, hiring Daniel, making Magnus Co-Owner, trying to shut down the server recently. What is it with Val and people that have the least skills suddenly getting hi positions. (Malak, Magnus, Wind) I believe you or I should be in charge of hiring only and someone besides the owners should be able to change account passwords or something drastic to avoid Paladin spamming or people taking weeks to get their correct account. 4. THE SYSTEM: Entrancer WAS working on this, but I heard that he hasn’t been seen in a while? I dunno if that’s correct. I really wish Lance would stay out of this, I know what Ent is doing takes a while and it’s really lame that Lance butted in and tried to get someone to make that “turn based” system. I won’t even get started on how the system wouldn’t work in graal (an action game) in the first place. I don’t really have much of a chance to get a hold of Entrancer, if he’s really gone, it should be someone else’s responsibility to find out what’s happening with him. And if he’s not going to get done then we need to be filling in the Fighting/Thief npcs, at the least the ones we used to have temporarily. 5. Quests: redo phoenix mountain, the golem cave and slowly add new ones each month or month in a half, not exactly something you can just whip out, but it’s another thing for people to do while no one else is running rps. 6. RP Admins: As events team, this is one of the most important jobs on the server. Well actually everything is important, but even if we had everything completed. Running RPs for everyone to enjoy is what makes us different from every other server. That’s what finally convinced me to love this place back in Kharlia. Every server has npcs weapons and stupid quests. (With my help we should be able to make some GREAT quests) What really keeps people here is their loyalty to their unique and interesting nation with their great leaders. And the involving plot that is and should be growing as more people learn to rp and we get more staff to help with it. 7. Staff Suggestions: Hrm, Oriah is dead weight. Virtue shouldn’t hire people. We NEED a page now and a way for staff to know what everyone else is working on and a schedule for the plan so we’re all working toward the SAME goal, not our own and we get it accomplished. We should ask everyone what they want to see in the server. If it was perfect what would it be like, what do they want to add themselves. We need to get people involved as a GROUP, not as everyone doing their own thing and give them a little hope that what they want could/will happen and that good things are coming ahead instead of them doing this all just to see people leave. There’s no reason for that when we can and should have the most popular server here. We have a lot to offer people if we get are butts in gear. :P STAFF RULES: 1. No cursing on RC 2. No insulting other staff 3. Keep arguments/insults in private PMs, not for the public to see. 4. Do not complain about other staff on rc, report them by pm or e-mail to a superior. I’m done for now
