Lampropeltis Getula Getula
Coloration: Black with white or yellow crossbands. Usually in a chain link pattern, giving it the other name of Chain Kingsnake.
Range: Northern Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, southern New Jersey, and  the eastern part of West Virginia.
Habitat: Woodlands, swamps, wetlands, farmland, and meadows.
Size and Longetivity: One of the larger of the Kingsnake species, it can grow up to 6 feet (the record for the longest Kingsnake is held by an Eastern that measured 82 inches), but usually average around 60 inches. It's also heavier bodied then most of the other Kingsnake species. It has been known to interbreed with other Knigsnakes in it's range, like the Florida Kingsnake. With proper care they can live around 15-20 years. There is a record of one living 28 years and 4 months.
Natural Prey: Birds, eggs, small mammals, frogs and other amphibians, turles, lizards, and other snakes (including venomous species)
