You cross the bridge into God's family when you trust Jesus Christ and receive Him by personal invitation.
Now,ask Jesus to save your soul from hell and trust Him to take you to heaven,
when you die. 
The Bible says..."But as many as received him,to them gave he power to become the sons of God,even to them that believe on his name..."  John 1:12
