It is believed this photo was among some photographs belonging to the late Carroll T. Longmire of Soldiers Grove, WI. On the back was the mark of a photography studio in Lima, Peru (photo below), and I assume that this photo was either taken in Peru, or possibly at a World's Fair or Exposition held in the United States by a Peruvian photographer. The lady does not appear to be of South American descent. The style of dress and the dates on the photo would lead me to believe it was taken in or after 1872, but likely before the turn of the century. I have no idea who this woman might be, so if anyone recognizes the woman or the photograph, I'd be grateful to hear from you.
