Edna Lena Miller was born March 1, 1903 in Clark County, WI to Emil and Amelia (Schlinsog) Miller. She was the middle of three children, the eldest being my grandfather, Louis August (1901-1986), and the youngest being Norman Emil (1921-1979). On June 22, 1921, she married Arthur Herman Mellenthin, and they had 5 children together.
1.) Phyllis Marjorie Mellenthin was born August 15, 1924 and married Cuba Ardell Simpson (b.07-09-1923, d.09-1977) on July 30, 1943. They are known to have three children: Vernon Dale (b.12-15-1944), Maureen Gail (b.11-01-1946) & Barbara Ann (b.06-02-1952).
2.) Marilyn or Marlyn Jane Mellinthin married Allen Hotsenpeller and had at least three children: Michael, Richard & Cindy (b.02-10-1964).
3.) Kenneth Glenn Mellinthin was born December 7, 1929 and married Lois Marie Freeman (b.02-28-1930) on February 25, 1948. They are known to have six children: Diana Lynn (b.06-30-1948) who married on July 16, 1966 to Warren Frank Jacobity (b.11-21-1946), Dennis Arthur (b.10-20-1950, Becky Jane (b. 01-29-1952), Ronald Russell (b.04-05-1957), Julie Kay (b.11-26-1959 & Debra Lee (b.12-17-1961).
4.) Theone Lavon Mellinthin was born September 16, 1930. She married April 2, 1949 to John Herman Lundquist (b.01-30-1928). They had at least three children: Linda Susan (b.08-27-1951), Jacki Lynn (b.06-02-1955) & Michael John (b.12-09-1956).
5.) Janice Jean Mellinthin was born March 5, 1933 and married April 21, 1951 to Melvin George Meyer (b.10-20-1927, possibly died 10-20-1988, Belgium, WI). They are known to have had three children: Gregory George (b.03-03-1952), Douglas Scott (b.10-14-1955), Laura Marie (b.11-08-1959). It is thought that Janice may have be married to another man named Porter, though no substantiating data has been found.
Edna Lena Mellenthin's date of death is unknown, though it is believed she passed away in the 1970s. Arthur died February 1975.
