Currently, I have little information about James Shane. Research indicates he was of the Catholic faith, and is buried at St. Phillips Catholic Church cemetery near Soldiers Grove, WI. Because his wife was not a member of the Catholic church, she was refused burial in the cemetery and was buried at the North Clayton Cemetery, where her brother, John George, is also buried.

Martha (Shane) Mook, daughter of James & Jane Shane, was married to David Mook. After her death, David remarried to Martha's younger sister, Hannah.
