George W. Martin was born to Urias & Mary B. (Chrinahal) Martin on January 1, 1860 in Cleveland, OH. His wife, Sarah (Longmire) Martin was born 1868 in Beetown, Grant County, WI to John & Lydia "Liddie" (Day) Longmire. They were married in August 1888 in Clayton Twp, and they were known to have six children: Floyd (tombstone reads only April 17, 1896), Frank (b.August 07, 1895, d.May 3, 1952, husband of Bertha), Lulu (b.1892, d.January 31, 1984, wife of Miles Van Fleet, Mother of Ellen Van Fleet Alexander), Pearl Blanch (b.1897, d.March 23, 1972, wife of Jay Dull), Lyall G. (1899-1942) and Mildred (b.1906).
George died on May 29, 1916 at Noth Clayton, Crawford County, WI. Sarah died November 11, 1955 in Clayton Twp. They, and their children are buried at North Clayton Cemetery near Soldiers Grove, Crawford County, WI.
