Elmer Elsworth Hill, Son of William Henry & Joann "Eliza" (Payne) Hill, was born February 11, 1872 in Wisconsin. Around 1900, he married Effie A. Mindham (1881-c.1940)at North Clayton, Crawford County, WI. They had 4 children: Robert Sr., Violet, Eliza & Minnie. In the October 22, 1908 issue of the Kickapoo Scout weekly newspaper, Mrs. Elmer Hill of Barnum was noted as seeking legal separation from an abusive husband. Ephie went on to marry a Mr. Sanders and had 3 more children: Alzada (Sanders) Zajicek, Sarah (Sanders) Finley Williams, & Perry Sanders.
On June 28, 1913, Elmer remarried in Soldiers Grove, WI to Mabel Rafferty (b.About 1875). They had no children together.
Crip recieved his nickname when a horse fell on him around age 45, crippling him, and forcing him to use crutches for the remainder of his life. He died March 13, 1945 in Soldiers Grove, WI and is believed to be buried at Felton Cemetery.
Eliza Hill (b.Abt 1900, Clayton Twp, Crawford County, WI) married a Mr. Jones and had a daughter: Marian Jones (b.Abt 1920, Crawford County, WI)who married around 1945 in Soldiers Grove, WI to Lester "Diz" Winger (b.Abt 1915, Soldiers Grove, WI).
Violet Hill (b.about 1902-d.about 1970, LaCrosse, WI) married a Mr. Ward around 1930 in Viroqua, WI. She remarried around 1950 to James Hill (b.1903, Crawford County, WI-d.Abt 1970, La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI).
Minnie Hill (b.about 1908). Nothing is known of her.
Robert Hill Sr. (b.November 10, 1899-d.May 16, 1978) married around 1920 to Alzady Green. Their ten children were: Robert Jr., Orville E., Vivian, Ortha, Boyde, Charles, Frances L., Marlin, Grace Ann, and Virgil. Robert Sr. remarried on June 19, 1927 in Crawford County,WI to Elizabeth ________ (b.Abt 1900)and had another son named Robert Hill (b.About 1930). His third marriage occured in September of 1950 to Tillie Rutherford (b.1904-d.December 24, 1971) and they had no children.
Robert Hill Jr. (b.about 1920) is thought to have married an unknown woman on June 28, 1941. It isn't known if they had children.
Orville Robert Hill Jr. (b.July 22, 1950), who fathered Clayton Hill Bladau (b.January 03, 1975) with unknown woman. On September 21, 1969 he married Callie Smith and had one daughter: Dulce Hill (b.May 08, 1970). He remarried on June 10, 1978 to Marcy or Mary Karr (b.July 18, 1959)and had another daughter: Melissa Hill (b.October 03, 1980), then remarried again on July 23, 1983 to Vicky Zimmerman (b.August 27, 1959).
Patricia Rose Hill (b.January 28, 1953) married June 29, 1975 to Richard Kelley (b.May 05, 1950)and remarried on September 11, 1987 to Richard Westfall (b.October 24, 1938). Patricia & Richard had a daughter: Racheal Westfall (b.April 18, 1987).
Clifford John Hill Sr. (b.October 22, 1958) married on July 02, 1977 to Lynn Taber (b.December 18, 1959-d.April 19, 1992) and had a son: Clifford J. Hill Jr. (b.June 14, 1981). Clifford was also married to Littisha Hylton (b.August 02, 1963).
Very little is known of the other children of Robert and Alzady (Green) Hill: Vivian Hill (b.November 12, 1922), Ortha Hill (b.November 09, 1924), Boyde Hill (b.about 1928), Charles Hill (b.about 1930), Frances L. Hill (b.September 14, 1935), Marlin Hill (b.September 01, 1939), Grace Ann Hill (b.about 1942), and Virgil Hill (b.September 23, 1944).
