Charlie & Bertha (Miller) Frank Family

Lily FrankLouise Frank It is unknown what family these girls belonged to, as two of my grandfather's female ancestors married men named Frank. I believe they may be the daughters of Charlie and Bertha (Miller) Frank, and first cousins to my grandfather on his father's side, as his aunt on his mother's side, Anna (Schlinsog) Lustig isn't known to have had children with her second husband, Fred Frank.

Bertha Miller was born in 1819 in Germany to Ferdinand and Augusta (Hensel) Miller. She was the half-sister of my great-grandfather, Emil Edward Miller, whose deceased mother, Amelia (Hensel) Miller, was the sister of Bertha's mother. They shared the same father. Bertha married Charlie Frank and they settled in the Homer area of Calhoun County, MI, where Bertha's parents and all but one sister also later relocated from Clark County, WI.

Bertha's siblings were Julius Miller (1890-1959), Awalt Miller (1902-1968), Elsie Miller (1894-1954) who married a Mr. Kostch, Clara Miller (1898-1976) who married a Mr. Gort and remained in Eau Claire, WI when her family moved to Michigan, Edith Miller (1904-1968) who married William Trader, and Harold H. Miller (1908-1990). Besides Emil Miller, she had another half-sibling, possibly a male, both born in Germany.

Bertha died in 1971 at the age of 84.
