| Umbrella Collages- To make these first trace a pattern onto construction paper. Second, stack your piece of construction paper onto two sheets of contact paper and cut this all out. Put the paper pattern and one sheet of contact paper to the side and remove backing from the other sheet of contact paper. Cover with collage materials. (We used recycled comic pages from the newspaper.) Lastly, remove the backing from the other contact paper and press together to seal in your collage. -These take some time, but my Kindergarteners did a great job during center time making them.- |

| Upside Down U Umbrellas- To make these first trace the U and handle pattern onto construction paper. Then cut out the pieces. Then glue the handle onto the U that is turned Upside Down. Then have fun decorating your umbrella. -I asked my students when we started this if we could make an umbrella out of the letter U... most said it wasn't possible-- it was fun proving them wrong. We loved making these to go along with our study of the letter U and the Direction Words- Upside Down.- |
