This program is one of the students' favorites. Each week a child is celebrated in our classroom. The students look forward to special activities each day during their Superstar week.
Monday: The child shares a star with their picture in the center and things that tell about their family and interests attached to the points of the star. Each child will bring the star home on the Friday preceding their Superstar week. The completed star should be returned to school on Monday for sharing and display on our Superstar bulletin board.
Tuesday: The class creates a Compliment book for the Superstar child.
Wednesday: The Superstar creates a question for our morning T-graph about themselves. (Does ____ have a pet?) Students clip yes/no and then Superstar shares the answer before lunch.
Thursday: The Superstar invites a family member to come to school as our Guest Reader. (Our goal is for all students to have someone come in to read during their special week)
Friday: The class creates a shared writing story about the Superstar.
**Parent involvement in your child's Superstar week is encouraged. Please share any additional ideas with Mrs. King. (Some parents pack special lunches etc.) Your support of this special program is appreciated!
