Ten apples on top of me!
We completed this activity after reading Ten Apples on Top by Dr. Seuss. It was interesting to watch the students sequence the apples up instead of sideways. Each apple was numbered 1-10.

Students completed these at home and they were displayed in our Science Station. Many of the same objects from the collages are used for observing, measuring, and comparing in our Science Station.

Autumn Trees
Trees were created with an arm/hand tracing for the trunk/branches and tissue paper for the leaves.

Weighing Pumpkins
Julee and Dustin are busy weighing pumpkins. When finished they will record their findings in a science journal.

Planting Pumpkin Seeds
We planted fresh pumpkin seeds in ziplock bags!
Julee reaches in to get a seed to plant in her baggie.

Our seeds sprouted well in the plastic baggies!

Interactive Pocket Chart Reading
Haley is reading with a motivating apple pointer. The words are interactive so students can change out the animals. Also, we have name cards so the leaves can be all over Mrs. King or a student in our room. The class loves reading each others names.

File Folder Math Games
Harle practices counting and matching apples at the math station.

At Family Word Stamping on a Bat
After reading Stellaluna, the story of a baby bat students stamped at family words on a bat. Word families are easily taught when students associate them with one particular picture or symbol.
