A Little Bit More...

I wanted to take the time to tell you a little more about myself. I was born in Wauchula, Florida, and I grew up in Arcadia, Florida. I attended elementary and middle school there until I was 13. When I turned 13, we moved to Anderson, South Carolina.

I began my 8th grade year in SC. I attended Crescent High School, where I graduated with Honors. From Crescent High School, I attended Clemson University for one semester in the Early Childhood Education program.

I stayed out of school for a little over a year to marry my husband, Shannon. I moved to Lavonia, Georgia with my husband and my stepdaughter. While I was out of school, I worked as an Administrative Assistant, and I also worked at the Franklin County High School. At the high school, I worked as a Paraprofessional (assistant teacher) in the Special Education department. As I worked at the high school, I realized it was time to go back to school. All I ever wanted to do is teach. During two summers as I attended school, I worked in the summer program of Bright Promises Children's Center. I worked with children from ages infant to 10 years old.

I enrolled at Emmanuel College, a four year Christian College in Franklin Springs, GA. I graduated from Emmanuel May 8, 2004. At Emmanuel, I had the chance to experience every grade level that I will be certified to teach (pre-k through 5th grades). I am excited to be at Lavonia Elem. and back at home in Franklin County! My husband, daughter, stepdaughter, and I currently reside in Lavonia, GA.

Latest News: I began teaching at Lavonia Elementary Fall 2008! I will be co-teaching 4th & 5th grades:)
