Tasha woke up to find bright rays of sunshine flooding the room. A nurse was standing in the doorway smiling at her, preparing to enter. Several times during the night they had came in and kneaded her stomach, so her sleep hadnt been as peaceful as she would have liked. Every one of those times, Russ had been lightly snoring in the chair beside of the bed, and she hadnt had the heart to awaken him. She turned to see that the chair was empty. The nurse approached quietly, saying, "You're husband went to make a few phone calls. He asked me to tell you that he would be back very soon."

She smiled and Tasha could see the wistful look in her eyes. Tasha remembered that feeling all too well, especially when confronted with such unabashed happiness as what she and Russell had. The nurse kneaded on her stomach a bit more, causing Tasha to wince and grit her teeth. She was sore all over and feeling like she had been run over. She grimaced and said, "Did you catch the tag number?" When the nurse look bewildered, Tasha said, "The one from the truck that ran over me!"

Both of them laughed knowingly, the nurse because she had seen this one too many times. She headed toward the door, smiling. "I will bring your son to you. That ought to make you feel just a bit better." She disappeared out the door, returning in a few moments with Alexander cradled gently in her arms. She deposited him into Tasha's waiting arms, leaving the mother and son alone togather. Tasha began to feed her wide-eyed son, who nestled into her warmth. Shortly afterward, Russell returned to the room with a drink on one hand and his cell phone in the other, closing the door behind him as he noticed that Alexander was feeding. There was a smug grin on his face as he crossed the room to plant one kiss on his wife's lips and another on the top of his son's downy head.

Settling back into the chair, he grinned his mysterious smile at Tasha. Tasha knew that something was going on, but the feeding was making her sleepy again and she was simply too dazed to ask him what was up with him. He sipped his tea, watching the scene before him with obvious pleasure. Finally realizing that she was not going to say anything, he leaned forward.

"Arent you going to ask me why I look as though I am sneaking cookie's from the jar?" He queried.

She grinned at him, replying "Well, if you want to tell me I'll be more than happy to listen! Otherwise, shut your silly mouth because you and I both know that if I badger you I will get nothing out of it." She winked at him.

He giggled. "My wife gets right to the heart of the matter, doesnt she?" He leaned forward, kissing her again. "She knows me too well. I am the luckiest bastard on the face of the planet." He kissed her again.

Tasha also giggled, pushing him away playfully with her free hand. "Sit down, silly. You are just like a big kid! Of course, that's why I love you so much. What can I do but overlook your more frustrating habits? It's all part and parcel of the extraordinary man that is Russell Crowe. My life would be empty without you in it."

He reached for her hand, squeezing it as tenderness flooded those breathtaking green eyes of his. It never failed to catch her breath to see that smile, especially when it was directed at her. His smile was tender as well, creating a radiance that blazed across his face. He leaned forward again. "Your doctor is coming in to see you in just a little bit. I caught her this morning. She says that, if you are well enough and everything checks up normally she may let you go home today. That is, if you want to! Unless you would like to stay here and eat this nasty food they concoct here?" He grinned as Tasha made a revolted gesture with her mouth, pretending to gag.

"I'd happily leave right now, if they would let me! I have always hated hospitals you know. Ever since I was a little girl, I have hated them, so I would be ready to go right now if she were to give me the okay. Not to mention the fact that they are constantly coming in and poking and prodding me." She paused and winked at Russell. "Oh, but I forgot - that is what you did to put me in here!"

Russell laughed and raised an eyebrow. "Oh but I would you enjoyed that poking and prodding a little more than the poking and prodding they do in here. Unless you have something to confess to me?" He grinned.

Tasha grinned back at him. "Yes, you should know. It's only right." She paused, taking a breath and lowering her voice to a whisper. "There was a man who spent the night with me last night. In fact, he slept in that same chair that you are in right now. I happen to love this man very much. If you see him, tell him that for me." She winked.

Russell leaned forward, placing his mouth against her ear and rubbing his fuzzy cheek against hers. The sensation it created was deliciously ticklish, as he murmured into her ear, "I love you back, sunshine." Shifting his face to hers, he pressed a soft kiss to her lips, feeling the smile draw her lips into an upward curve as she returned his kiss.

He leaned back long enough for her to switch Alexander to her other breast, watching as his son drowsily searched for a nipple. Tasha's head lolled back, the hormone that breastfeeding released causing her to appear somewhat drugged. Her hair was slightly sweaty and spilling down into her face. She swiped at it a few times, ineffectually. Russell got up, walking over to the table that held her bag. Finding a fabric-covered rubber band in one of the pockets, he returned to his wife. Gathering her soft, blonde hair into his hands, he pulled it off her face. She sat forward long enough for him to collect it all from behind her back and pull it into a snug ponytail. She relaxed even more as his hands lingered on her shoulders, gently kneading the soreness from her muscles. She would have liked for him to continue this, but at that particular moment there was a knock on the door. Russell pulled her nightgown back up over her shoulder, covering all but the breast that Alexander was feeding on.

"Come in." Russell said, hoping it was the doctor.

Sure enough, she opened the door and peeked her head in. Noticing that Tasha was still feeding the baby, the doctor smiled and said "Let me know when you are finished, Tasha, and I'll do your checkup. If all goes well, you'll be able to go home today."

"Alexander should be finished in just a few moments, Dr. Lindsey. We'll let you know." Tasha said.

The doctor softly closed the door again, leaving Tasha to grin at Russell. "I hope that I'm able to leave. It would be so much better to be at home in my own comfortable bed. This one is really starting to hurt my back. Not to mention the fact that I would like to take a nice long shower. Hell, I havent even been out of this bed since they put me here. It would be nice just to get up and walk for a little bit. I look forward to being able to ride again." She said this wistfully, since she had been too afraid to ride during her pregnancy. She hadnt been on a horse in over 8 months and her mind was itching to race one across the windswept meadows at the farm. Russell grinned at her.

"It will be very nice to be able to go riding again, but dont forget we will have to be in L.A. next month." Russell said amiably.

Tasha groaned, having forgotten that Russ had to go to the States to meet with some people on a new film he had decided to do. She was unable to remember the name of it at that particular moment, but she knew it had something to do with boxing. She smiled at the thought of seeing Russell romping around a ring in a pair of boxer shorts. She said, "Well, I suppose I can find the time to do some shopping while we are out there." She winked at him again.

He laughed, promising her full use of his credit card. The baby had finished feeding and was dozing quietly, so Russell went to find the doctor. Returning in a few moments with a nurse and Dr. Lindsey, the nurse took the baby for what was, hopefully, his last checkup before going home.

The doctor checked Tasha thoroughly to ensure that everything was as it should be. Tasha allowed herself to be poked and prodded, hoping to hear some good news. Sure enough, as the doctor straightened up she said, "Everything looks well in order here. Looks like you will be going home today, Mrs. Crowe."

She smiled and Russell whooped, happy to hear the good news. Tasha managed a tired smile, thankful that she would soon be at home in her own bed where she would be able to get some decent rest and get that hot shower she was needing. Russell grabbed her hand, bringing it to his lips and pressing a sweet kiss into her palm. He whispered into her ear, promising to give her a full body massage as soon as he was able to. She sighed with pleasure, looking forward to his phenomenal hands roaming her body.
