KELLY'S MOMENT LIKE THAT... 26-Sept-2003
Kelly, that's strike 4,396. You should've never did that movie with Justin. What's next, a movie with Clay and Reuben?! Ewww... We can only imagine (or not...) what's to come of their rivalry. I'm sorry, but I just feel like the new batch of Idols aren't as marketable as the first one. In this business, image plays a BIG role. If you don't have an image to portray, then OH WELL. See yo' ass later... I feel sorry for the 2nd batch of Idols, who were robbed. The first batch have got their work cut-out for them. But this second batch?! Sorry for them...! Kelly, you ARE so white...
SPEAKING OF CANADIAN IDOL... 24-Sept-2003
Go ahead, Mikey... Doin' it up for our people forreal! Now if I don't see an Asian in the next crop of American Idol candidates then I'm convinced that this is all just another CONSPIRACY! (har-har)
IDOLIZE: AU, CANADA! 23-Sept-2003
Incidentally, Ryan Malcolm will be featured in an up-coming American Idol Christmas Special, which is scheduled to air in November of this year. Subsequently, he will also be featured on an American Idol Christmas CD which will be due come the holiday season. Seems as though the British contest has spread its wings much across North America. Hmmm... I wonder where the next Idol will pop-up?!
CHALLENGE! THE RW & RR ARE AT IT AGAIN... 22-Sept-2003
After an ever-so-dramatic challenge in Jamaica (Battle of the Sexes), the gang, or gangS, are back to face-off for their next challenge: The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet. This time, roadies and rulers will return to battle it out in Telluride, CO. Although taping has already been completed, MTV anticipates the show's air time which formally commences on September 29th. There are several old skoolers coming to the fray, including RW-Boston's Elka & RW-New Orlean's David. But newbies, Trishelle (RW-Las Vegas) & Tina (RR-South Seas) are among some of the new skoolers coming into competition. It should be an interesting play of cat-fights, love triangles, naughty-naughty behavior, and lasting friendships being tested. So stay tuned!
SOLD ON KATE BECKINSALE. 21-Sept-2003
Incidentally, it seems like Kate's vampire days aren't over just yet... She's currently filming alongside Aussie Hugh Jackman on the set of Van Helsing. This film is another take of the vampire story, and Kate will once again be giving justice to the screen. Will she be playing a pale, fanged seductress?! Or more possibly an innocent victim?! We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out Underworld at a theater near you!
HEY, BRIT, IT'S THE KICK-OFF RIGHT HERE. 05-Sept-2003
So---she gave a mediocre performance of a mediocre song. But she was all skin, which she's come to be known for. I'm sure my fellow menz were happy about that. (i sure was...) But I still can't give it to Britney. Christina, no wait X-tina is still at the top of my list. Britney still can't sing, so nothing's changed one bit. AHAHAH...
Aside from The Spears making a showing at last night's NFL Kick-Off Concert, Mary J. Blige, Good Charlotte, Aerosmith, and Aretha Franklin gave a hand in entertaining the masses. It was a good show, all-in-all; definitely a good way to lift spirits up for Washingtonians, and esp. our military. It was a good way to spend a so-so Thursday afternoon... Hope you checked it out!
The other night I was switiching between some random WB show and a re-run of the MTV Music/Video Awards on MTV2. I was watching the part where Kelly and Ludacris were presenting an award. OK, so as they're walking in, Luda says something like, "YO, WASSSUUUUUUUP..." He didn't say that, but it was something like that; something to that effect. Kelly did the same thing, then she goes - real quick - "I'm soooo white!" At that moment, time stood still for me, and for a split nano-second I was completely embarrassed for her saying that... HUMILIATED, WRONGED, VEXED, and PERPLEXED. That's just NOT what you say when comin' out on stage at an MTV awards show with someone like Luda. I mean, we KNOW you're white... she might as well have just been like, "OhMiGoSh! What's UP!!!?" instead of tryin' to come in all down and shit, then saying, "I'm so white...!" Completely embarrassing.
I was bored at work, surfing the net... *eh* And I happened to come across the Canadian Idol page. Apparently one of the 11 finalists (they decided to take 2 wild cards instead of 1) was a short Asian-looking guy with no hair. I immediately thought that he had to be a brotha, and then I saw his name and it was over. Yes, my friends, Mikey Bustos was a finalist on Canadian Idol. Unfortunately, he didn't make it past the 8 finalists, but hey! At least he made it in, and stayed after the first show - ey?! EHEHE... Well, it's about time someone repped hard for our people on a show like Canadian Idol. If only our boy, Jordan Segundo, had made it through the semis in the last American Idol then we would've been set. But hey, Canada is another great country; our northern neighbors. And we have mad cousins up in that place, ey?! (omg, i just realized that i keep saying "ey..." hey, no pun intended. ahahah!) Well, that's Mikey in the photo...the one with the red shirt. Check him out on-line: http://www.idolscanada.com/mikey.html... and if you want to sample his vocal chops then access it here: Mikey.wma. Personally, I think that he has a great voice: clean and very fluid.
And so it has begun... Canada jumped on the "idol" bandwagon with their very first edition of CANADIAN IDOL this year. The most recent American Idol, Ruben Studdart, was on-hand on September 16th to crown Canada's first idol. Ryan Malcolm, a 23-year-old waiter, was welcomed to the Idol family by Ruben and millions of tele-viewers via Canada's CTV. The singing waiter bested over 15,000 Canadian Idol hopefuls to take the title home.

One of American TV's most sinful pleasures is MTV; namely, the Real World/Road Rules franchise. The shows are the "OG gangstas" of reality TV, and they're still going strong. The most recent, Road Rules: South Seas, just wrapped-up with six RR-ers coming home battling out numerous stunts and missions to win their ultimate reward. This year, the gang came home to brand new Subarus. Not a bad prize for the roadies. Meanwhile, Real World: Paris is headed towards the end of its run... giving way next year to a brand new Real World - this time in San Diego, CA. Hmmm... We'll see how that one goes.

Kate Beckinsale's new movie, Underworld, opened nationwide this past Friday night...apparently to good reviews! It's a good thing because Kate is one of mah silver-screen crushes. She's just got the whole British thang working for her. She's not overly vampy like Elizabeth Hurly, nor is she wickedly annoying like Sporty Spice. But Kate is simply Kate. I first fell in love with her when I saw Serendipity. I didn't even realize that she was the same girl who starred alongside Claire Danes in Broke-down Palace. But yes, Kate is now in a new movie - which is basically a conglomeration of Blade, The Matrix, The Crow, and Romeo & Juliet. Underworld is a dark movie, but gives an interesting take on the myth of vampires and werewolves, or lycans. In this movie, the mythical dark creatures of the night aren't in a full-throttle frenzy over killing human beings. Instead, they're more concerned with each other ---making sure that there always remains a fine-line between the vampires and the lycans. Vampires and lycans don't, and cannot, mix... Sheesh?! Where is the love, eh?! As they both plan to rule over the world someday, seems like that plan will be unlikely as they have a battle to forge between themselves before anything. From the looks of it, there will be a follow-up to this movie...as characters in this film have either been left without tying up their loop-holes, or made quick get-aways before the end of the story. So we'll be keeping an eye out for that one.
The NFL kicked-off last night, and luckily Washington, DC played host to the event. The FREE, pre-show concert at the mall attracted NUMBERS and NUMBERS of people despite the rain. Once the show got started, however, the rain seemed to stop... giving the crowd a "dry time" at the concert. At least we hope so. For the guys, at least, it almost could've been a dry house if it weren't for Britney Spears. LOL.
