Starting in Minden, NV, US 88 would replace NV 88/CA 88 to Stockton, CA. In Stockton, it would follow CA 99 south (once and again, US 99 here) and CA 4 west towards Concord. From there, it would take CA 242, I-680 and CA 24 to Oakland, where it would cross the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. After a short multiplex with US 101/Van Ness Avenue, US 88 would continue to the ocean along Geary Blvd.
