Author's Note: I love the lyrics to this damned song, and I can’t do them justice. Although I did hold back from the smut. Hehe. She wanted to sit on the hood of the car and feel the heat of the sun slip away, but he took her hand in his warm palm and gently tugged. She resisted at first; relishing the delicious warmth of the metal, smooth against the backs of her bare thighs; but his smile was tempting and it beckoned to her. She allowed him to pull her closer and the path crunched, sandy underfoot. His long legs carried him away from the path and amongst the tall grasses that she was too small to see over. She followed the sound of his laughter as the sky and the earth flushed in equal shades of gold and the sea glittered below. Beneath the sinking sun she was set ablaze; cinnamon hair and crimson flushed skin as she chased him; her own laughter girlish as she chased his retreating form through the swaying reeds. Her voice followed him as he dashed around, feeling younger than he had in years, sensing her following him, a lilting refrain. He watched her search for him from a raised mound of earth and his breath slipped from his lungs. It was all so impossible. “Cheater!” He shouted, and she spun. Her dress flew out around her slim figure in a whirl of blue that matched the edges of the sky above. He ducked, hidden from view, yet risking discovery to watch her lips purse and her hands go to her hips. She called back, words that the wind snatched away. He caught the end of her laughter as he crept forward, beneath the cover of the grass. She tumbled with a squeal and he relished the sudden force of her weight over his own body. He dragged her down with him and she fell easily, surprised, but unresisting. It was beyond impossible. Her body turned in the circle of his arms and he held her to his chest while she loosened the pins from her hair and let it tumble against her shoulders, longer than he remembered. She was different in so many ways. At least her mouth was as he remembered it as it pressed to his own in a warm kiss. “Stay with me...” Her kisses were soft as she lay in his arms in a world of red and gold. The sun was a ball on the horizon, still warm enough to etch her throat with a flush of heat, and he pressed his lips there to see if her skin tasted as sweet as it looked. She lay back, flattening the reeds with her warm weight and he followed, covering her with his body. A breeze snuck between them to lift the gossamer of her skirt, dark with his shadow over her. His hand slipped along her thigh, bared for him by the playful wind. Chest to chest, he kissed her mouth, breathing in deeply the warm earth and the cooling sand, a trace of her perfume and the soft heated scent of the woman beneath him. Her body rose under his kiss, pressing along the length of him, her toes reaching only his calves. She breathed him in too, with the pollen of the grasses and salt of the sea, its sequin-sparkle silver reflected across his face. “Be my love...”
